In October 2023 for 4 days we had the joy to be guests at this beautiful hotel in charming medieval Belves which is positioned in the Dordogne area of France mid way between Toulouse and Bordeaux. The new (7 months) and enthusiastic owners of this very tastefully and recently restored period hotel were marvelous hosts being ever present and keen to ensure our comforts and also the quality of our trips in the area to see Chateau’s visit restaurants, wineries and other attractions close to the River Dordogne. Mathieu and Nathalie provide a range of beautifully decorated room types, each different given the medieval period building styles of long ago. All charming! They also present beautiful breakfasts that can be enjoyed in the spacious and bright dining room or outside on classic Parisian terrace furniture in the novel and quiet walking only street on which the hotel is centrally located. Mathieu is a talented Chef and also bakes cakes on a daily basis to serve with Coffee in or outside the hotel. There are very quaint shops, good restaurants and bars on the walking street within a 2-3 minutes walk yet the environment remains peaceful and particularly quiet at night where nothing will disturb your sleep and rest. We came to the Clement V from Montreal, Quebec where we well know the ways of French Cuisine and Hospitality and we were delighted with our stay hence this recommendation and endorsement of the quality and high standard of accommodation available here.
