Yearly family visit, to South Africa, especially to Cape Town and the Klein Karoo. The cottage are family orientated for young children with hot baths and activities, tennis and bicycle loans. Bath shower combo not for the elderly.

I always enjoy our annual winter trip to Montagu Springs. Unfortunately this time around their hot water pool was not working which put a damper on our trip. Their GM, Gavin Hatherley went out of his way to ensure that we still got the best value for money and were treated more than fairly. We will be back

So sorry Montagu Resort. We only spent 1 night of our 3 night stay. The pools were not warm enough to use and the Manager did explain that the heating was not working. The whole reason to come to 'Springs" is to use the heated pools. We also found the Plettenberg was really outdated and the geyser wasn't working. Considering how cold it was we decided to move over to Avalon Hotel. We were re-imbursed our 2 nights loss from Montagu Springs. So a thank you to the Manager. Unfortunately connot recommend this resort to anyone until the issues are sorted so please check this carefully.

Because the place have facilities that's unique to other places even some closer to me and to drive that far pay the money we paid travelling costs included, you would not expect the facility not to be available and then have to pay an additional R700 to get the facility opposite the road. Next time be more upfront about not getting what is advertised.

The price of charcoal and blitz was almost double the price it normally is. This needs to be relooked immediately. Pools being cold not warm as expected changed everything we looked forward too as a family horrible to be honest. We paid and nobody informed me the pools heater was broken and when I arrived to collect my key was I informed that they had someone come and fix the problem but it was never fixed the whole time we were there it was cold. And the check in time is not worth it it's very late 3pm but when you check out you need to leave at 10am this is not ok and needs to be relooked because it never felt worth it for me honestly.

Quite an enjoyable stay ! We were able to walk around at night. I almost got the feeling one does not have to lock your doors!
