Beautiful Schloss in well kept grounds. Seminar rooms, guest accommodation, restaurant, cafe, wine celler with tastings and wine bar. You can enjoy a variety of activities here. Beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. Very close to the market town of Leibnitz.

We stayed only one night in the castle on our way to our summer vacation in Croatia. So it was a coincidence since we looked for a place for the night. I knew this is going to be great the moment I talked to Reservations via phone (Frau Tschnernegg), who made sure we got a nice family room on short notice. The Hotel is a real island of tranquility. The center area is a large terrace outside overlooking a big meadow (with a beautiful pool) and a historic wine cellar. Wonderful space and they also serve some great food there (e.g. awesome Risotto) and fantastic ice cream (self made?) . By the way, the breakfast was also great (different area though) - big variety, healthy, from the area and perfect fried eggs. Our room was in the new building, so nothing to complain about. AC was helpful since it was a warm day. Had everything that was needed. In the evening we made a nice stroll around the castle - they also do guided tours. We left after only 16 hours - but it was the perfect start to our vacation. We also bought a couple of bottles of wine from the place. To work on: No gym (I did not see one anyway)

Nice Hotel
I want to rate the hotel 5 stars because it achieves what it is trying to. The staff was great. Food at dinner was great and people are very kind. Breakfast was great too.
But I feel they missed on what the place could be. It is a mix of historic and modern industrial. The rooms are nice but generic with higher quality Ikea type furniture. I don't feel any connection to on to the past. But like I said if you want a nice hotel then you'll be happy here.

It was unforgettable and fulfilling to spend two weeks at Hotel Schloss Seggau. The hotel lies in the beautiful green space, surrounded by hills and breathtaking landscapes. Its swimming pool is the most authentic one I've seen, as one can swim and sunbath while enjoying the unique natural surrounding. The castle is a precious hotel complex that has all the facilities to make a holiday comfortable, yet respects and preserves rich nature and history. I warmly recommend a guided walk through the castle's centuries long history, as well as wine tasting. Perfect for conferences, as well as for private arrangements. The only downside are insects during the night, as windows have no mosquito net, so I warmly recommend bringing a mosquito spray (it's not dangerous though).

Eine tolle Location zum Tagen in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Man spürt das reiche geistliche Erbe, das aber nicht in der Tradition erstarrt ist, sondern auch architektonisch gut in unsere Zeit übersetzt ist. Ein Ort, an dem es an Körper, Geist und Seele gut geht. Gerne werden wir für einen privaten Urlaub wiederkommen.

Angesichts des Formel 1 Rennens waren Zimmerangebote entlang der Autobahn von Wels bis Graz kaum verfügbar. Schloss Seggau buchten wir deswegen eher notgedrungen in der Erwartung, in einem eher mäßigen Seminarhotel zu landen. Unsere Erwartungen wurden bei Weitem übertroffen: +Durchgängig sehr freundlicher & kompetenter Service, beginnend beim Check-In, daran anschließend Terrassenbar sowie Abendessen und Frühstück und endend mit Check-Out. +Relativ geräumiges, helles Zimmer, sehr sauber, Einrichtung relativ neu, bequeme Betten +Gepflegte Außenanlagen einschl. Poolbereich +Hotel- und Restaurantbereiche insgesamt sehr gepflegt und sauber +Frühstück ok bis gut +Abendessen samt Auswahl Speise & Getränke ok +Personal ist hundefreundlich +Entspannte Atmosphäre +Seminarteilnehmer waren freundlich/fröhliche Studenten, die an einer auf dem Schloss veranstalteten summer school (oder so ähnlich) teilnahmen +/-Die Lage ist autobahnnah, aber ansonsten doch etwas abgelegen - entweder man mag das oder nicht, das ist Ansichtssache. -Klares Manko - und deswegen keine 5 Sterne - war der fehlende Aufzug in dem Flügel, in dem sich unser Zimmer befand. Die Wege einschl. Treppen sind doch etwas sehr weit mit Gepäck. Klare Hotel-Empfehlung für ein Stop-Over während der Urlaubsreise. Wer länger bleiben möchte, sollte sich vorab mit der Lage im Grünen näher befassen. Schweizer werden sich auf jeden Fall hier wohlfühlen, da es sehr sauber ist.... Danke an das Hotel-Team für den netten Aufenthalt!
