Ski - Golf - Wellness Hotel Riml

Hotel ticks all the boxes. Ski in ski out. Large hotel but designed so doesn't feel it. Food excellent, rooms spacious, all the staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Spa facilities superb. Outside terrace was lovely. Overall alot of thought had gone into lots of little things to make the visit enjoyable. Only very small grip in that the towels were little rough in the rooms compared to the Spa towels. Riml sport shop down stairs excellent and again extremely helpful. Looking forward to revisiting.

Wow - this hotel is magical! Everything you could need for a perfect ski holiday - ski hire under the hotel - ski in/ski out. The food is amazing. Fantastic breakfast followed by lunch and cakes 2pm sitting in the sunny outdoor (but warmed with heaters) terrace. Evening meal is 4 courses and delicious. Thankfully you can burn off all those calories in the fantastic quiet ski slopes of Hochgurgl. The staff are all lovely and it was noted that younger servers were trained with kindness and respect. We especially liked having a set spot for breakfast and dinner and a regular friendly waiter - Janos. Pools and sauna also brilliant . Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay.

Lots of good stuff, but also lots of not so good stuff! Staff are great, very helpful, and they all acknowledge you from front of house to the maids in the corridors. Layout of the hotel is very higgledy-piggledy, as I guess they have added bits over the years. Our room was spacious with a balcony at the back of the hotel looking directly up the hill. Although we had booked a room with a small kitchenette, we did not get this, but no big deal. Good size bathroom as was the bath and the separate shower. The ski rooms 3 I think are a bit small, and the lockers are a bit tight. You have to walk through the basement to a lift and go up 2 floors to exit onto the snow, and then it is a short slide to the lift. Our dinning room, 1 of 4 eating areas was at the back of the rear sun terrace, wood paneled and a bit stuffy for our liking, and the view from the garage is better!! There is a fantastic dining room at the front of the hotel with spectacular views up the valley to Obergurgl, but that is obviously reserved for those who have paid for rooms with views and/or suites. The 3rd dinning area, which is at the end of the bar area is not used in the evenings, no idea why, it's more open and much better, but only used for lunch! Bar area is nice, although their Aperol spritz are not Aperol spritz! Why, because they do not put Prosecco in...even Aperol say you put 3 parts Prosecco in, so that was disappointing and misleading for a 4* hotel. Spa area is great, several steam rooms, and sauna, pool is great when it's quiet!! We had a drink in the "Put in Bar" and a go on the golf simulators, but be warned the golf bar is a smokers bar. All said and done, we had a lovely stay, and would recommend it.

Under new management since 2023, Jorg and his team are building something truly special here. I have stayed at Riml for more years than I can remember – and lots of the guest are multi-repeat visitors – says it all really. In 2023 I sensed a new vision and energy - and gosh is that evident and delivering now 2 years down the line. Service is efficient and at the same time friendly and super helpful – everywhere!! It all feels seamless and easy – as a guest all you need to do is turn up and enjoy yourself – they take care of absolutely everything else. Food is outstanding - the dinner menus are imaginative with unusual combinations (I think I will forever dream about the pumpkin seed sabayon with Char from Langenveld), and all beautifully presented; the cheeses are excellent too BTW. By the time you have feasted your way through themed starters (sushi, Greek etc – different every night), salads, soup, mains, dessert and cheese, you definitely need the next days’ skiing to burn it all off. The new system of a print out every morning of the previous days’ charges (drinks, etc) which one can check over breakfast is very useful (an elegant solution and definite improvement over before, having to sign bits of paper every time). Riml always had the best sun terrace in the universe, and they have managed to improve on even that - retractable roof covers and plenty of very stylish heating makes it useable even on the coldest of days – as well as meaning that the Tuesday and Friday live music sessions from 2-4.30 are rocking outdoors regardless of the weather. Daily buffet (savoury and sweet) from 2-4.30 is a real treat after a good ski … and the terrace is for Riml guest only – introduced in 2023 and retained. Downstairs sport shop has the same outstanding team of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable professionals who will advise and assist on all your skiing needs, or generally just chat about skiing too. I still smile every time I get in the lift that has 3 buttons: ski room (with separate ski cabinets for each hotel room), terrace and piste ... oh joy ... followed by a decent easy short glide to the lift. PS you do not need to pre-order your lift pass as you can get it ‘immediately’ at the hotel or there is a ticket office directly at the lift. I never pre order either lift pass or skis as its so easy at the hotel and gives me flexibility to decide what I want to do and get their advice on snow conditions and best choice of ski. I stay in a single as a solo traveller ... 'small but perfectly formed' ... springs to mind - plenty of cupboard space, and a lovely south facing balcony view down the valley. Comfy bed with super big pillows. The WiFi is excellent (improved access from previous years). Jorg is ever-present leading and alongside his team, chatting to guests and generally making everyone feel special. In closing, Riml now has a kind of laid-back panache, that it did not have before, an exclusivity that does not take itself too serious

Absolutely wonderful in every aspect. From the arrival to departure all the staff were very helpful , professional and friendly . The room was big and spacious and all the meals were outstanding . If I had to make one comment it would be that being charged € 6.50 for a carafe of water at dinner is rather excessive.

Hotel surpassed our expectations particularly having read some other reviews . Staff were all friendly attentive and efficient . We arrived late due to delayed transfer but were greeted by the manager who took luggage to our room where there was a lovely cold platter arranged for us . Staff in bars and restaurants also excellent with a special mention for Janos who looked after us most evenings .Food was good and plentiful for all meals . Room was very nice with sunny balcony and mountain view . Thoroughly enjoyed the pool area which was excellent for relaxing after skiing . Access to slopes was first class and nice sunny terrace to relax on after coming off . only minor complaint was the fabric free area which effectively was off limits for us unless we finished skiing early .
