If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Genting – the most terrible hotel!
Please think twice before booking this place. It’s not even a proper hotel, worse than a 3-star stay. Feels more like a lousy homestay pretending to be a hotel.
Check-in / Check-out
Check-in was a nightmare: only 2 staff at the counter while so many guests were waiting. At check-out, 5 staff were standing around but still so inefficient, even though the process is simple.
Hotel Layout & Facilities
The layout is a mess. Rooms are in one tower, facilities in another, and check-in somewhere else. It’s like walking through a maze just to get from one place to another. Imagine swimming at Tower 7 and then walking all the way to Tower 1 in the cold — ridiculous. The pool was disgusting, full of green algae, water looking dark and dirty, clearly not maintained.
Room Condition
The room was terrible. The door stopper didn’t work and snapped back, hitting my grandma’s hand. Towels were mismatched, some dirty, some old. Only one small bottle of water per person was provided, and if you want more, you have to pay extra. Stains were everywhere in the room. The phone didn’t even work — if there’s an emergency, who are we supposed to call? The toilet mirror and hair dryer were so loose they almost fell off. And the wardrobe has a huge mirror right on it — imagine trying to sleep while staring into that. Creepy and uncomfortable.
Buffet
The buffet was the worst. Bread was so dry it could break your teeth. Food variety was pathetic. Not enough cups, so guests had to use paper cups. Even the spoons had stains 🤮. The fruit looked bad — the apples were already turning yellow.
Parking
Parking was another headache. To validate the ticket, you had to walk all the way back to the lobby at Tower 2. Super inconvenient.
Service
And the worst part? The staff. They don’t treat you like guests at all. The receptionists’ faces were unfriendly the whole time, like they didn’t even want to be there.
Overall
If I could give zero stars, I would. One of the worst stays I’ve ever had — totally not worth the money.
