Gurney Bay Hotel, A PARKROYAL Partner Hotel

We enjoyed our stay here at this slightly aged hotel but still maintained very well. Room was clean and comfortable. The only con was the wait while check in. The facilities like swimming pool, gym room, etc were nicely equipped. The location is very convenient to the seaside and eateries. I think this might be the best option when come to choosing a sea view room in a stars hotel.

Rundown facilities, hot jazuki under maintainance . Cool not that good. Sauna not that great broken door so can’t feel the steam that much. Terrible lighting tennis court, surface as well terrible. Old tv what to watch?

Overall, I had a very pleasant stay here. Ambience & Design The hotel has a classic, old-world charm. Although the building shows its age, it has been very well maintained. The lobby looks elegant and gives off a premium atmosphere. Service One of the highlights of this hotel is the staff. Every employee I encountered was polite, friendly, and very helpful. Their hospitality made the stay even more enjoyable. Facilities The swimming pool is large and very clean. The gym is also decent for a hotel gym, although the weight selection is somewhat limited for those who prefer heavier training. One small issue I noticed was that after it rained, I saw mushrooms growing along the corridor outside the rooms and there was a slight musty smell in certain areas. 😅 Room I booked a sea-view room and the view was absolutely beautiful. The room itself was comfortable and well maintained. The only downside is the carpet, which makes the room feel a little dated. While everything appeared clean, the carpet looked worn and slightly stained. Cleanliness: 4/5 Overall cleanliness was good and everything looked clean to the naked eye. Breakfast Breakfast was one of the better parts of the stay. There was a wide variety of choices, including Western, Indian, Malay, and Chinese dishes. However, if you arrive late, some popular items may already be gone. I missed out on the dim sum because it had run out by the time I arrived. 😅 Overall The hotel is comfortable, well maintained, and located in a convenient area. Despite showing some signs of age, the excellent service and overall atmosphere made the stay enjoyable. Overall Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A comfortable hotel with beautiful sea views, excellent staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely consider staying here again.

The receptionists who served us, Hafiz and Omar were very friendly and helpful. All the staff are very attentive and service is efficient. Breakfast spread was adequate. Room is comfortable and very clean.

The hospitality of the staff was exceptional and easily the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately that alone couldn’t make up for the condition of the rooms and facilities, which are in need of refurbishment and better maintenance. The room had a strong musty smell and was noticeably dusty. Not too sure if proper quality checks were carried out before guests checked in. It felt as though the room may have been left vacant for an extended period and only used when occupancy increased. The overall maintenance could be significantly improved. Another issue was the hot water which took around 5–10 minutes to heat up before it was warm enough for a shower. Other than that, I still had a decent stay.

Good location. Clean room and toilet. Very nice sea view. Nearby with restaurants and cafe. Service is good.
