Hotel de Flandre Ghent

The excellent property outshone our actual mediocre room. We booked something very simple, and that's what we got. The breakfast was one of the better ones we've had on this Europe trip, and paid for breakfast at the hotel once we'd seen how good it was. Location was great, just slightly away from the busy areas, but a very quick walk to everything. There is a great little grocery store right across the street and we purchased ready-made meals and ate then along the canal. A public parking garage was about two blocks away, and very convenient. We'd stay here again, and recommend it to friends. The two single beds (pushed together to sort of make a king) were fine for my wife (5' tall and petite), but not ideal for someone my size (6' tall/220lb). Not sure what a nicer room would have cost, but we weren't in the room for more than sleeping, so doubt we'd pay more for something fancier if it were available when we come back.

Easy friendly check in, excellent location. There were used towels in our room and the room was very hot. No slippers or other toiletries except soap. Besides that no problems and I would recommend this hotel for a a short stay.

Rooms are not the same as shown on the website. Location is 100 meter walk from Hotel de Flandre, the opposite side. The receptionist said as friendly to walk us to the other hotel building called City Garden Hotel. It's more motel like hotel. Staircases are very slippery when it rains, if you choose not to use the lift. Rooms are not well maintained, light bulbs not working, safe not functional in one room, or low battery in the other room changed. We reported it to the reception, offered to changd one room, this time there is no toilet door??!!! And lots of diets and hair here n there... Honestly overall experience is a bit disappointing for what you paid, thus not good value for money.

Very good. Close to all you need. Would recommend it to anyone staying in Gent

Staff is nice.
