We visited Mt Rosa Lodge at the end of Dec 2023, and had the most amazing afternoon. Have visited Gibbston Valley many times, but Mt Rosa was very unique and special like no other. Hosts Michelle and Stuart are superb and ensure a memorable visit. Their wine, La Bella Rosa, is one of the most sought after in the region and an extra special experience to taste and enjoy in the surroundings of the lovely lodge. The setting is stunning - sitting on the lodges terrace looking down across the expansive valley whilst sipping La Bella Rosa is a magical experience and what perfect memories are made of. I can’t wait to go back next time, and would love to stay over next time.

We were attending a wedding at Mt Rosa Vineyard nearby and stayed at Mt Rosa Lodge. Stuart and Michelle are amazing hosts with great attention to detail. The Gibbston Suite was very comfortable with all the amenities that you could need. Lovely gardens around the Lodge and the views were just amazing. Breakfasts were delicious and they were very knowledgable with their recommendations on where to go in the surrounding area. Nothing was too much trouble and we look forward to a return visit.

Please don’t read on. I’d like to selfishly keep this place a secret! Stu and Michelle were amazing hosts. The view, the vibe, the service, the care … All exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. The Fiat, the gourmet breakfast, the wine, the random rum tastings … What an experience ! Mark and Jane

Our time at Mt Rosa Lodge was fantastic, thanks to the exceptional hosting by Stu and Michelle. Stu’s insightful vineyard tour, generously sharing his expertise in wine and viticulture, was fascinating! Michelle’s hands-on pasta-making workshop was fun and fabulous to make and create something together! The dining experience was a culinary delight! A delicious meal of beef cheeks and fresh pasta, followed by the refreshing rhubarb and gin ice block and a stunning tiramisu, all paired perfectly with Mt Rosa Lodge’s exquisite 'La Bella Rosa' wine. The rooms were a joy to behold—spacious, elegant, and tastefully appointed! The luxurious linen, coupled with super comfy pillows and bed, was heavenly! Waking up to the delightful combination of freshly squeezed fruit juice and date scones was an absolute treat and an exceptional start to the day! Stu and Michelle designed an adventure full of fun experiences and laughter in their vintage Fiat Bambino cars. We toured through their vineyard, then travelled further down the Gibston Valley to taste some delicious wines. Later, we travelled to Queenstown for beer and gin-tasting before cruising home through Arrowtown. What a truly unique and unforgettable experience! Mt Rosa Lodge, with its breathtaking views of the Gibbston Valley, is an absolute must-visit. And, of course, indulging in a glass of their 'La Bella Rosa' Pinot Noir is the perfect way to complete the experience. Thanks so much, Stu and Michelle, for just the best couple of days with family and friends!

A truly fabulous place; Stuart and Yvonne are exceptional hosts. We spent a special afternoon with friends tasting their beautiful wine - La Bella Rosa - hearing about their unique property and the history of the region. From a fun tour through the vines in a fiat Bambina to the stunning views from their lovely house, this is an absolute must-do when in queenstown!

My wife and I recently joined Stuart and Michelle for a wonderful afternoon of wine tasting. After some initial discussions with Stuart, he personalised a wine tasting experience and we ventured out in one of their Fiat Bambina 500cc cars around Layes Hayes and Gibbston Valley. We had spectacular experience and added to our wine knowledge from both discussions with Stuart and Michelle and also the vineyards that we visited. The last stop on our tour, was truely special as we ended by visiting their own vineyard at Mt Rosa Lodge overlooking Gibbston Valley. We cannot rate this more highly as their hospitality was next level, and more importantly we had a blast and tasted some stunning Central Otago wines. Just truely a magnificent experience and great to meet some lovely people.

We had an amazing day out in the Fiats. Michelle and Stuart were impeccable hosts with loads of local knowledge and a generous spirit. I took my parents and sister and we had such a great time and made plenty of memories. My parents won’t stop raving about it. We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to a couple of select wineries before spending time up on the hill hearing about the boutique vineyard they run. Couldn’t recommend this more for a unique experience.

Hosts Stuart and Michelle are warm and welcoming. The perfect amount of attentive without being too interrupting. The room was spacious and comfortable and we slept so well in the bed. The cherry blossoms and tulips made it a stunning setting. So peaceful and an amazing night sky. Stuart's taxi service meant we could book a lovely dinner at Gibbston Valley Lodge and lunch at Amisfield without having to drive. Their knowledge of the local area and local wines was wonderful!
