The hotel charged service fees and forcibly deducted money from the credit card. Our family had dinner at the hotel. The hotel waiter thought we were foreigners and didn’t speak good English, so the bill was wrong. After we checked the prices one by one, they changed it.

Very good. It feels like one of the few good hotels to choose from. It is very clean and the service is very good. The room was upgraded for free. I hope it can continue to do well.

We and one other couple rested here for the last 4 days of a very active 3 weeks in NZ. The Gibbston Valley is a wine region just East of Queenstown. It was so perfect. We are from California and this region, which features some tasty Pino Noir, reminded me of Paso Robles decades ago before it became so busy. We e-biked, went wine tasting, and visited Arrowtown, which is an admittedly touristy but nevertheless totally charming small town nearby. There was a lovely jogging/biking trail and some beautiful wineries with stunning views of the mountains. The Gibbston Lodge had beautiful small villas as rooms. Ours had a patio that look right out onto their vineyard. The weather was sunny with clear skies. We enjoyed the services of their Spa. They had several lovely patios for enjoying a drink or dinner. If there is one nitpicky thing it is that there were a limit number of items on the breakfast menu that were unusual combinations by their Chef, which were nice but you couldn't order a la carte basics without having to buy the whole combination. Good lattes/cappuccinos. The Staff were very helpful with transportation and dinner reservations.

We had a wonderful stay in Gibbston Valley Lodge during our tour of the South Island. It offers great value for money. It was certainly much better than a more expensive hotel we also stayed in just down the road, so it scores well on comparative value for money as well as overall experience! Definitely choose Gibbston if you’re looking for luxury accommodation in the area. The lodge is beautiful, peaceful and gorgeously landscaped. The setting amongst the hills and tui birds was very relaxing and just what we needed. The restaurant offers delicious food at a reasonable price, the breakfast food was absolutely delicious! We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights of our stay. Similarly, the hot tubs and sauna were perfect for some much needed R&R and could be booked easily through the reception. The lodge itself was small but well furnished (the highlight was the private veranda and spacious bathroom). The best part of our stay was the staff who were friendly and very accommodating to us. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Had an amazing stay. The best part was the people. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. You would often bump into people at the wine bar for lunch that also looked after you at breakfast. Rooms are very large so you have plenty of room to unpack for a few nights and explore the region. A lot better option than staying in Queenstown and you can easily drive everywhere. Lots local places to eat 2 onsite and Arrowtown is very close. We hired bike for a day and really enjoyed the ride.

Surreal experience. It was one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The villas was exquisite. The experience was divine and just to be able to stay here for a short duration really elevated the whole trip experience. I wish I could have stayed here for longer.. it was so good. A must do experience for anyone visiting queenstown. Shorten your stay in the city and come stay here. You will not regret it. The wine is also really amazing. The villas from the comfort to the amenities and the service, everything gives you uber luxury. No complaints. Only compliments.
