The Little Crown Inn

From the warm welcome to our departure, Saul and the staff at The Little Crown inn, were exemplary. We came with heavy e-bikes, but nothing was too much trouble and we so appreciated the atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent too. And the location, right on the National Cycle Route was brilliant.

We stayed at the Little Crown Inn overnight for a family event there the following day to celebrate my mam who has recently passed away. The owners Saul & Jacqui were very helpful friendly and accommodating. Hannah was a gem and the chef was skilful and innovative Jacqui provided the most amazing afternoon tea for 16 members of our family. All our family agreed the quality and variety of the savoury and sweet food was amazing. It was the best afternoon tea I've ever had And I've eaten many afternoon teas in my life! It was a fitting celebration for our lovely mam who would have been delighted, especially with the surprise I requested at the end which was delicious I understand Jacqui will be adding afternoon teas to their menu. I highly recommend them for a special treat

What a lovely friendly and welcoming place. Your staff and you as the hosts were wonderful from beginning to end. We all enjoyed everything about your Inn. You were both efficient accommodating and lovely people and your staff were an honour to you , they have learnt well. The food was great and we really enjoyed it. Lovely place to stay. Staff are extremely friendly and great to chat to. Good variety of dinner options and all very well cooked - mushroom starter is brilliant. Good cooked breakfast with a decent choice of options. Beds very comfy, nice bathroom with good shower (shower over bath, no separate cubicle). Free parking in well lit, cctv covered, car park. Close to main road. Overall superb, I'm trying to find an excuse to go back!

We went to Little Crown spur of the moment last night. New ownership. Have been there to charity band days and Sunday lunch etc in the past and always liked it there. The restaurant area was really busy, but no-one eating in bar area(by design i suspect)which has all been made more open plan. I do prefer the bar area tbh, but we were grateful to be told we could eat, despite one member of staff on bar, serving food, cleaning tables, taking orders for food and drinks constantly!! Her name is Hannah and she was literally running around asking if everyone was happy, getting more drinks etc, all with a smile on her face! We were worn out watching her lol. What a wonderful girl to employ, worth her weight in gold! I hope she gets rewarded for working above and beyond! We both had steaks, which were cooked perfectly and the chips are always really good, so compliments to chefs too! But many thanks to Hannah, who is a star! 🤩

An absolute gem of a place, we were made to feel welcome by the owner immediately, who took us to our room and explained the history of the inn which was fascinating. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and the food was exceptional we had an evening meal and breakfast. We were in the twin room which was decorated to a very high standard with extremely comfortable beds and I had one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages. We will definitely be staying here again.
