Arkana Motel

I should have read reviews before booking. Apparently this Motel is used for Public Housing and has a number of permanent residents. Unfortunately Maryborough was booked out for a Festival so there was no chance to move elsewhere. Our Room smelt mouldy and marks on the carpet, bathroom felt dirty, bed was questionable and curtains had holes in them. I had to buy Glen 20 and spray everything each time we went in the room. They provide a microwave, kettle and toaster but no plates or cutlery to use. We had to leave front door open to get some fresh air circulating. The outdoor area was dirty, there were cats living onsite as well as permanent residents. Arrived home late and there was a car in our carpark - a male came out of the dark as I got out of the car (approaching me quietly from behind) and yelled about the limit being 5K’s which we were doing and then said that’s the Motel’s car and I am not moving, you can find somewhere else to park. He was about 5cm from my face. I had to give our toilet paper to the lady next door as they had none and she said she didn’t shower due to the state of her bathroom. The other side person had to get clean sheets as her bed had not been changed and another person stated they had Bed Bug Bites. The only good / upgrade thing to note was the electronic keypad to unlock your door. I don’t know how they can advertise as a motel when it is used for Public Housing. We will never stay again.

The place is run down and unkept. The room was clean but very old. Never going back there again, the pictures on the website are a bit misleading.

Everything! The bed was so comfortable, the room was clean and had everything to make you feel like you were at home (comforts). The staff member was very friendly. The premises are well kept. It was quiet and very relaxing. I highly recommend staying here.

Arkana Motel suited our needs during our stay. More than satisfied with the room. Whilst basic, it provided all the necessities of a short stay. The place was spotless and you can smell the freshness of the cleaners used so that way you know its has been cleaned. The manager is helpful and always available to assist with any queries.

Never stay there The place was an absolute mess, people sitting on the ground in the car park, todlers running around the car park

Very basic, two single beds, management was great though.
