Aloita Resort & Spa

Thank you so much Jess and the team at Aloita. We have had a blast! This is the first time we have come to the Mentawai’s as a family (husband been on a few boat trips before) and it was the best 10 days. Perfect wave out front for myself and 2 daughters (aged 11 and 15) learning to surf and 2 boat trips a day taking my husband and son (aged 16) to a range of different surf spots. The resort is heaven, the food exceptional and all the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Shout out to Fin our lovely surf instructor who gave myself and daughters so much confidence to surf the local wave, Jess and Carolina who looked after us all so well and Dave, Zac and Luca, the resorts surf guides who were awesome! We really hope to come back next year!

Our family spent 9 nights at Aloita’s Sunset Villa. We had an amazing time, great food, great surfing. A big thank you to all the staff, especially Luca Bertoldi, our private surf guide and coach. He took great care of our family of varying surfing abilities.

My mother and I spent 5 days in Aloita. It was her first 1st time in Asia and after some exploring around Java, I wanted to take her to a remote tropical island to have her experience the incredible beauty of Indonesian sea. I’m not usually someone who travels choosing only boutique/luxury hotels but this time I wanted to cuddle us and turns out I couldn’t choose any better than Aloita. The place itself is stunning, an hidden gem far from the crowds with beautiful turquoise water, the property is fancy yet cozy and the attention to details is the highest. The rooms have all the comfort you need, the food is amazing and different everyday, the bar is fun and offers pool, ping pong and table games. The staff was probably the best part: they call you by your name and make you feel at home from the first moment. Jess welcomed us with open arms, the other guys were always friendly and up for a nice chit chat. Honestly, I’m not sure if it was all dream or if that really happened. Whatever that was, I’ll cherish. Terima kasih, Aloita.

I have mixed feelings regarding Aloita. On the positive side the place is absolutely amazing, the nature is incredible and the beach is (for the most) clean. There are many water activities, the rooms are lovely and the food is good. The local employees are lovely and speak good English. The not so positive side is the chaotic experience of booking my stay regarding the transportation. If you are travelling there make sure you have at least one week and be ready for all kind of cancellations. The reservation office was very helpful though in calming me down :-). Better safety when children are practicing aquatic activities would be recommended and the american host at the hotel tried to be nice, but it felt like she was annoyed by our questions.

Aloita resort is the ,,Escape place,, I,m sure that everyone can find here the peace, inner connection and the things he never expect to find here. The food, accomodations, nature and amazing staff and owners gave me the holidays of my life.

Loved every second of our vacation:) Everything was perfect, food is delicious, people are extremely kind and respectful, the room was perfect and cleaning was always very good. Its very safe for baby also, our 6-month baby really enjoyed, they truly love kids and they are more then welcome. We will definitelly come back. Thanks for everything we had the most beautiful holiday!:))))
