Wonderful location but the chalet we got - Doc was very grimey and smelly. The possum urine on the deck was so strong we couldn't sit out there for long. Accommodation in need of a deep clean and done regularly. Can't recommend this accommodation.

The beautiful Mouse House Retreat was as ethereal as ever. I have been lucky enough to stay there once before and the entrance to the rainforest and chalets surely must be one of the most magical in the world. Just a small wooden gateway into the sub tropical rainforest. The boardwalk is lit and winds it way through the forest to each chalet. This was a special birthday celebration so it was perfect.

A great place to re-energize and reconnect to oneself, with your better half and with the nature. Kudos to Wayne and his wife for creating this absolutely amazing place. Well-maintained and top-notch furnitures - whatever is written on their website are all true and the pictures are exact representation of what the place offers. Thank you so much for being the best host for such a wonderful haven of peace and serenity. Highly recommended and we will surely be back sometime soon if not sooner 😊♥

Wow, where do I start. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Anthony was very helpful, informative and friendly. We stayed in the King Louie chalet and although the photos online are great, they didn't do it justice. It was absolutely amazing, had everything we needed, clean, comfortable and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Being in the rainforest and hearing the stream and the many different birds was magical. Springbrook itself has so much to offer. The walks and waterfalls are stunning. The perfect relaxing break from home. Will definitely be back.

We last visited the Mouses House forty years ago in our youthful mid-30’s. My memories of this visit include images of a cute wooden cottage nestled deep in a scenic rainforest by the side of a meandering creek. It was winter, so there was a roaring wood fire and two glasses of chilled white wine, a veritable love nest. When I conveyed these memories to my dear wife, her only comment was “which of our children did we take!” Children, love nest, you’ve got to be kidding! And they say women are the romantics! Well I’m pleased to report my memories have proved to be correct, the Mouses House is an idyllic love nest and a child-free environment. The timber interior, subtle lighting, comfy couches and log fire create a wonderful warm and romantic environment. The owners had thought of everything for our comfort including the modern day essentials; an IPad, cable TV, coffee maker, telephone reception. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed was large and comfortable and we had one of the cottages with a his-her spa bath. We would highly recommend the breakfast and dinner basket options. Both were excellent value for money and you will need a big appetite to eat the tasty and extensive fare in a single meal. Last but not least, Springbrook, a truly beautiful part of Australia, impressively healthy rainforests, breathtaking lookouts and well managed walks suitable for all ages, including romantic mid-70 year olds. Based on recent comments from wife, I suspect it will not be 40 years to our next visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Ps. Our cottage had two sleeping areas so I suspect less romantic couples could take the kids along.

Our favourite place! We stayed here for our honeymoon and returned for our Anniversary and are already planning the next. It’s so peaceful. We booked Snow White and love the stream just outside. The spa beside the stream is fabulous. We saw so much wildlife and enjoyed every minute. It’s also a great base to explore the surrounding National park. And the drive out to natural bridge is well worth it. Make sure you are prepared as there is no local fuel stops or supermarkets. But dancing waters cafe has some great scones.

Having read the reviews, good and bad, I find myself agreeing with statements in both camps. Nice area, great views. The cabins are quirky and well equipped, a mixture of modern kitchen, bathroom, and toilet and more traditional lounge and bedroom. Clean from eye level down. A bit dusty and cobwebs higher up The vaulted ceiling was so high I’m sure it’s really difficult to keep clean. We are in “Sleepy”. Thankfully only 2 of us as the second sleeping area could only be accessed by a perpendicular ladder which we could not climb - young athletic types only I fear so definitely double check the facilities you need. You are coming to cabins in the rainforest so manage your expectations and be prepared for the lack of natural light and the smell of damp. We’ve had rain both nights and what I wasn’t prepared for was the constant noise of dripping water from the trees onto the roof. Hard to sleep so not restful but no one’s fault. Make sure you bring plenty of supplies as even eating out at lunch is limited and not all the cafes were open. Check your route and make sure you have a sat nav. Springbrook Rd is currently closed and I understand that’s been the case for a year. Slightly stressful for us overseas visitors trying to follow emailed directions that didn’t mention the road closure. Reverted to google maps but mobile coverage coming up the mountain was inconsistent.

A quite unique experience. surrounded by National Parks, the accommodation set in bushland, very limited services - restaurants/cafes/shops/supermarkets/hotels and some wild weather. We stayed in one of the newer and moreexpensive cabins and it was fabulous. We were prepared for self catering and bring in our own food and drinks so that went very well. The cabins are very well equiped and the surrounding NP was fabulous to explore.

Fifth time at the Mouses House - still amazing - had the lux spa on creek chalet - just wonderful. Clean, cosy, peaceful. We will be back again. We love being in the rainforest and seeing the wildlife.
