The outdoor atmosphere at the campsite is great, and the riverside experience is fantastic. However, during my two nights there, I was constantly seeing people smoking in the hotel's public areas. I didn't stay there, but once, while I was having breakfast in the restaurant, several men in uniform were smoking there. After breakfast, they continued smoking in the lobby, and no one stopped them. Since Xiashan is a multi-regional brand, it can be local in form, but its management philosophy should be modern and civilized. I hope they can strengthen their management, otherwise I'd rather stay in a hotel or B&B run by locals.

When it comes to going down the mountain, it seems that Songtsan has to be mentioned. After staying there, I feel that there is actually a fundamental difference between the two. Songtsam is a top luxury hotel, which means going down the mountain to be a boutique hotel. I directly selected the most expensive rate on Ctrip (excluding Songzan) and stayed for two days. I didn't receive a welcome amenity (I'm not sure if there was a mistake; the hotel didn't receive the booking information), didn't understand what the first round of minibars were, and didn't receive afternoon tea. The staff were few and far between, but the service was friendly. The facilities were average, clean, and hygienic. The view from the room was beautiful, but I didn't dare open the curtains because a row of tents lined the window. On the day I checked in, someone was barbecuing in the camp directly opposite the window until 11 PM, significantly impacting my privacy. The food was limited, expensive, and not very tasty.
