Balloon Cave Hotel

A very cozy cave hotel, conveniently located within walking distance of the bustling town. Every morning at breakfast, the staff would greet us warmly. Although we couldn't go hot air ballooning due to the weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay in Cappadocia.

I really liked the hotel! Initially, I gave it 4 stars for cleanliness and amenities, but then I remembered it's a 3-star hotel with a corresponding price, so I didn't want to bring down the rating. It's atmospheric, cozy, with wonderful staff. There's a rooftop viewing platform and a restaurant for breakfast, and you can also spend time there waiting for your airport transfer after checking out. The breakfasts are good and tasty, with a decent selection, though the coffee wasn't great. The hotel's location is excellent – very quiet yet close to the city center. In the room, there's water, a tea set, and a minibar (which is paid and very expensive, but it wasn't an issue). There's heating, air conditioning, and I'd describe the furniture as vintage rather than worn out. However, the mattresses on the beds weren't comfortable. The bathroom has a good, powerful hairdryer and almost everything except for dental kits, though you might just need to ask for those. We booked excursions and transfers in advance through various online resources, so we didn't order them at the hotel. Overall, I recommend this hotel; it's very atmospheric and a pleasant place to stay. While there are some downsides, they are more than offset by the price.

The staff were incredibly kind and super efficient. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. They were very helpful and attentive in assisting us with choosing activities and places to visit nearby. We truly felt welcomed. This accommodation is highly recommended, and we will definitely return.

The location is excellent. The rooftop offers stunning views of Goreme, and we captured many beautiful photos of the hot air balloons in the morning. My only minor complaint is that the mattress was too soft.

The service here is excellent; the staff are very friendly and proactively offer help. I stayed in both room types. This particular one was a cave room, and while the price was low, there's definitely a reason for that. The room's interior is made of stone, which means it's poorly ventilated. You have to use the exhaust fan, which produces a bit of noise. What was truly unbearable was the intense itchiness I felt when sleeping in the bed. All my exposed skin – my arms, neck, and even my hair – was itching terribly. It was incredibly uncomfortable. I reported it to the hotel staff, and they suggested it might be due to dampness/humidity. It's genuinely the first time I've ever experienced such itchiness in a hotel, and it certainly left a lasting impression. If you have the option, definitely choose another room type; the others are much better. I strongly advise against booking this 'specialty' or cave room. Overall, the hotel is quite good. You can see hot air balloons from the spacious rooftop terrace. Just be very careful when selecting your room type!
