The building, which houses the tourist complex, has a rich history. In 1875 Sortavala merchant Daniel Tiainen organized on the shore of lake Ladoga steam sawmill. This place was named Kiviniemi Saha (sawmill on stone Cape). The founder did not expect that after 116 years at the base of the building will be built cozy hotel called "Piipun Piha", which in Finnish means "courtyard with a pipe". At present from the industrial past of the building remains only the pipe, giving the hotel a unique charm.

Из плюсов:
Новые чистые номера, уютно, комфортно, большая охраняемая парковка, есть свой причал, вкусные завтраки.
Из минусов:
Персоналу на ресепшен можно было бы быть более дружелюбным. Выключенные завтраки - по факту при заселение предупредили, что нужно поесть с 7.30 до 8.45, при бронировании этого указано не было.
