a rural location but nice room and staff. Nice breakfast with hard-boiled eggs

I had high expectations for this quiet hotel and they were definitely met. The rooms were clean, comfortable and updated and the hotel was set by a beautiful creek with areas for relaxing by the creek. Sadly, it was raining so we did not take advantage of that. There is also a hiking trail which took us through some beautiful areas and farms. The restaurant on site was excellent and very relaxing. We ate our dinner there and enjoyed the European style breakfast in the morning. I found the staff both courteous and knowledgeable. There is a small museum on the site where you can explore the old grist mill. It is also a good place to practice your French as they were very patient and appreciated the effort.

I loved everything 🥰 The building was from a Fairytale 🤩 I loved opening the windows in the morning looking down to the yard! Sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee, listening to the little river and all the birds. Staff was friendly and we got drinks and food that was tasteful. We went for walks in the area, beautiful 💚 If we ever come back to Luxembourg, we want to come back to this Pearl 🫶 Love from Ann-Kristin and Sten.

An absolutely amazing find! We stayed just one night, but a longer stay would have been wonderful. Definitely a hidden gem worth a visit! The building is a repurposed watermill which adds to the character of the hotel. The rooms are standard Gasthaus-type rooms with a cozy rural vibe. Bathrooms were newly renovated, very neat and tidy. Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Plenty of room for clothes in closets and cupboards. The direction the room is facing makes little difference, as the property os completely surrounded by nature. Food was great! Everything was delicious and felt home-made. (We ate dinner at the restaurant the night we arrived) Breakfast was also perfectly good. To our delight, the hotel is dog-friendly! Dog lovers will find themselves meeting new four-legged friends, as did we. For the history buffs: there are two war memorial in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, honoring those who gave their lives for the liberation of Belgium and peace in Europe. There is also an in-house museum covering the function of the watermill in its hay day! The staff was super friendly and genuinely interested in giving us the best experience possible. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is passing through Luxembourg. Will visit again if I get the chance! TLDR: Just book a room, it's perfect.

Our visit was intentionally to visit the museum situated within the hotel complex. A small and quaint building across the courtyard from the hotel and after we also had a drink in the bar. The mill itself is about 1000 years old and the oldest in Luxembourg, the exhibits give an insight into the workings of the mill over the years. I can't of course comment on the hotel facilities but the restaurant and bar looked very nice and the service we had for our drinks was excellent. The hotel itself is in a very quiet rural area with lots of walks available and the grounds have a an outdoor terrace, a play area for children and a stream passing through nearby.

The hotel is located very nice surrounded by a lot of nature. That is probably also the reason they can get away with stuff like early stages of fungus in the bathroom and the breakfast they serve. At a price of over 18euro one can expect more than the absolute basics: prebaked croissants and baguettes, topings as well as yogurt mostly in plastic cups beside some ham and cheese. And if you come to breakfast halfway the serving hours you have to fear missing out on part of it.

Located up North in Luxembourg. Rustic ambience. Our group had preordered .... different menus (starter/main/desert), each choice was well prepared and tasty. Special mention for the fish/cabillaud rôti, chocolate fondant/coeur au chocolat coulant et glace vanille.... Servings are good. Friendly service.

The main hotel (Domaine du Moulin d'Asselborn) was fully booked so we had a room in their other building, Auberge du Relais Postal. I will give a review of the room on that page. Check-in was at Domaine du Moulin d'Asselborn, so was the dinner and the breakfast. We were received in a very friendly way, even with some words of Dutch (or mother tongue). We booked a package: room, breakfast and dinner. For dinner we chose the 3-course dinner. It turned out that there was not a fixed menu but that we had to choose the 3 courses (starter, main, dessert) from the à la carte menu. For lots of dishes we had to pay extra if we wanted to take these. We partly understood as these were the most expensive dishes on the menu but there was no logic. F.e. for a dessert that costs 1 euro more if you eat à la carte, you had to pay 2,5 euro extra in the menu. We did not understand this and it was not logical at all. The food is nice, nothing really special but nicely served, good taste (most important thing of course) and generous portions, too generous for us. If you take a menu you usually get smaller portions (that's why we like to take a menu) but here you get the same portions as the à la carte and for us that was too much. Next time we come here we will not take a package anymore but just eat à la carte. We found the drinks rather expensive, especially some of the wines. Service in the restaurant was okay. There was a young man and a young woman. The man was very friendly and welcoming. The young woman did not speak any French and said she speaks English, but her English was rather poor. It was not easy at all to communicate with her and she was sometimes very pushy (when she took away an empty bottle of wine or empty glass of beer she immediately said: do you want another?). We asked to change two desserts by an Irish coffee and this was no problem. What we missed was a small appetizer with our aperitive. And when the young woman took away the bread from our table she just placed it on another table and served those guests the left overs of our bread. This is not something we appreciate. Breakfast was also in this location. Breakfast was basic but okay. There was French bread, small croissants and small chocolate breads, two types of cereal, a muesli, pieces of fruit (no fruit salad), two types of ham, cheese in slices, yoghurt, eggs you could boil yourself, juice and coffee and spreads like chocolate spread, jam, honey. We missed a welcome when we arrived for breakfast, we had to guess we could just take any table we wanted and could serve ourselves. We only stayed for one night but for several nights the breakfast would be too basic for me (I like some different egg or baked bacon, fruit salad, more then one type of cheese, ...). Our stay was not extremely expensive but not cheap either so I expected a little more choice for breakfast. Overall it was a positive experience and we would go again for one night or maximum a weeken

Dommage.
