Chy Carne Holiday Park

We had a great stay at chy carne. Staff were helpful and the caravan was comfy and clean. Location was handy for getting to beaches and exploring Cornwall , and the site was quiet and peaceful at night. It was useful having the well stocked shop onsite and the pizza place was nice too

On arriving we realised that although it included bed linen that does not mean they actually make the bed up which is a shame after a long journey with tired children and you get to see the dirt on the duvets while making the beds that wasn’t pleasant. Also do not do a shop before you arrive they don’t have the fridge switched on for arrival apparently that’s normal according to the rude girl in the shop ( that’s also reception) and also the freezer is a tiny compartment one so don’t buy to much. It did get cold pretty quick though so that was lucky. The free wifi doesn’t work at all either and signal is bad that’s ok with us but just in case you need it you won’t get it. Our little one unfortunately wet the bed one evening we took the stuff up and apologised but they did not offer anything in replacement so had to go out and buy stuff for him!! We won’t be returning here but the site was clean and tidy and in a good location. There is better places to stay nearby for us.

We decided to stay at Chy Carne as the website said shop, reception, pizza take away, close to the beach, looked amazing, it was double the price of other campsites in the area but we thought if we could get a drink, a takeaway and be close to the beach be worth it. We arrived late at night - woke up next morning to pop up to reception to say we had arrived - NOT OPEN. There is a static home opposite, people looked at us, didnt come over. Didnt ever even check in? No Reception in 3 days? The on site Shop advertised it would be open for 1 hr in the AM and 1 hr in the PM - it didnt it was SHUT didnt open ONCE in 3 days! Pizza Cafe CLOSED since 28th August! The advertised state of the art toilets and showers are the standard wooden painted doors, and the icing on the cake had to pay for a shower!!!! DISGUSTING! So 3 nights £140 to park a camper on grass and use a toilet, absolutely awful never ever again would we stay here It was £24 for two dogs to stay! the dog poo bins were full, cant really see what that charge was for? Didnt even see a dog water bowl on site? The outdoor bar area very run down, actually a shed adjoining a tent The play areas very run down and disappointing Very very poor site, no customer service, complete waste of money

We have been coming to Chy Carne now for many years,first with our children,and now our children come with their own families. After reading some of the recent reviews we’re thinking some of these people are staying at a different campsite to the one we have been visiting all this time. Obviously things are never perfect and one persons expectations are different to others? We have always felt it’s a very safe and easy going place to have a great holiday,the pitches are large ,all the facilities are clean and work well,the views are fantastic.And if you do need to contact the Chy Carne family you will find they are very helpful, and will go out of their way to assist you. Avoid this place, I arrived yesterday after travelling 500 miles, meant to stay there for 6 weeks and work at chy carne....this people think it was acceptable to for me to stay in the stinking , hazardous bin area! And was expecting me to park between old, derelict caravans that were fire hazard with only one meter space on each side...I wish I took a picture of it, but I was in such a shock that owners of this place thought it was perfectly fine for they employee to stay there...I was then showed grass area since I refused to stay in between bins...again this was way too small for a motorhome and right next fire pit and some old grabby, covered in cobwebs and dirt caravan. The marquee on site could do with putting in a bin if not at least give it a bit of a clean, I would definitely not order a drink from there I think they calling this old grabby piece of material a pub on their website...funny. Toilets ...again dirty and in need of an update, if you gonna charge people for a shower make sure there is at least a shelve to put your shower gel on. Read the negative reviews and take them to heart, I wish I did it would of have saved me a lot of money. We left after 10 minutes of being there!!!!! I don't know who this people think they are, but reading previous reviews I shouldn't expect nothing better from them. AVOID !!!!!

We have recently stayed at this site. Upon arrival the staff were friendly. The pitches are a good size, we were on a slope but it does say this on the website. The site overlooks the sea, it’s a short walk down to the beach Pizza’s were lovely! We sat in the marquee with them and had a drink whilst there was a singer on. My only complaint is about the owner, and for that I would not stay again. I went to talk to her to ask about baby changing facilities in the showers, and expressed the showers were not very clean to put my baby on the floor. The owner became very rude and did not appreciate my feedback. Yes they may have been cleaned at 6.00am, after a lot of usage to not be cleaned again until 11.00am is not enough. A suggestion would be to have a mop bucket/squeegee in the showers, so people can clean before or after use.
