Sobreiras Alentejo Country Hotel - by Unlock Hotels

Christmas time makes us search Fort comfort and warmness. Sobreiras brings that human touch where smiles embrace you. Its location, in the middle of nature, brings fresh air, open views, where birds and true nature life surround you. Very good breakfast, spacious rooms with very comfortable beds, a thousand reasons to come back. Even though it is a countryside hotel, it is a quick car travel away from some picturesque places like Grândola, Lousal mines and a huge beach coast.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere which is great if you are looking for peace and quiet but sadly a long way from the nearest restaurant.  The 3 bed villa was nicely decorated but the gardens were a mess and full of weeds and long grass.  The villa smelt damp and unlived in.   I was told before I booked it that there was a washing machine but was told on arrival I could not use it as it was the owners.  I would not have booked had I known this   

I loved everything. The service, the place, the rooms. Diaba is amazing :) I would just recommend having lighter (and more) options in the restaurant, as in the summer we need softer foods, specially under almost 40 degrees! Also, having some activities available nearby :) Apart from that, highly recommend!! :)

I'm sharing a review of their customer service pre-trip. After booking a non-refundable stay via *******, I came across a number of reviews that I hadn't seen before from recent travelers. There was an overwhelming amount of dissatisfaction with the quality and condition of the rooms, specifically calling out that there are no doors on bathrooms. I became concerned and requested a goodwill cancellation. They declined. I take full accountability for not haven been more thorough in my research. That said, the responses I got back from the hotel are mind blowingly unprofessional, ranging from "No one booked it for you. Was yourself." "A valid excuse was not presented, your own mistake or lack of decision doesn’t look like it can be accepted like one either." And when I asked for proof of doors on bathrooms, they simply forwarded the site link, which of course doesn't show what I asked. Beware anyone looking to book here.
