Middle House

We enjoyed a lovely family celebrity a big birthday. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed, the food delicious, the staff very friendly, and the service excellent. The bottle of Prosecco and the birthday card were an unexpected surprise birthday present too, We would certainly visit Middle House again.

Excellent. Lovely spacious pub with a restaurant. A genuine warm welcome, good food and beer. It has a garden too. Very easy to start a conversation with others in the pub (if you like doing that) and we certainly learnt a bit more about Askrigg! Definitely the best pub/restaurant in Askrigg

Lively place with pleasant decor. Waiting staff were pleasant and attentiverl. Ordered the fish pie which sounded lovely. Certainly didnt deliver what was promised though! Very little sauce and made even worse by the dry mashed potato topping. Certainly NOT worth £24!!

Our 2nd meal in the last few months and once again we weren’t disappointed ! My wife and I firstly snacked on olives then both had a lovely main course then shared a dessert. We washed it down with a lovely pint of real ale from the local Wensleydale brewery and a glass of Pinot rose. Everything was fairly priced and we will definitely be returning !

Fabulous welcome. Great local Wensleydale Ale. Decent choice on the menu. Prompt service despite being busy. Flavoursome food - Treacle brisket very good and well cooked scampi from Whitby. Nice wine. Well done to new owners - raised the standards and surroundings and good luck to them.

Nestled in the heart of the Dales, this place is an absolute gem for a staycation. The rooms are exceptionally clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The linens are luxurious, and the showers are divine! The simple and effective way of ordering more items for the room, like toilet rolls, tea/coffee clean towels etc is something we think more hotels should do. It’s a great idea. We have the best view from our room, and we love to unwind in our tub chairs by the window in the evenings. Breakfast is included and comprehensive, making it a hassle-free experience. The place has a very fancy feel to it, and very atmospheric and the attention to detail is obvious throughout. The food is incredible, the meat is locally sourced and my husband tells me it’s amazing (I don’t eat meat) We have even met people who, when they hear where we are staying, say they’ve eaten there and their food was outstanding, one gentleman said it’s the best he has ever had! The menu is very varied, meaning there’s sure to be something for even the fussiest of tastes We literally have no complaints, it’s everything we could want in a place to stay, but I cannot go without mentioning the owners and staff. They are professional to the nth degree but so kind, helpful and welcoming. I truly do recommend it!! We can’t stop rebooking because we love it so so much!!
