"The location is excellent. Because I have allergies, the carpet was very bad for me. It was old and I think it couldn't be cleaned anymore. Otherwise everything was clean. We had to take my dogs with us unexpectedly because the dog sitter all over suddenly didn't want to take care of my dogs anymore. In your hotel you didn't cause any problems but were just understanding and I appreciate that very much. Otherwise we should have left.   In the restaurant a special table was made for us and my four-legged friends. They were all very sweet and very friendly to my Caisy and Flocky. The service from the restaurant was a 5 plus. We really enjoyed the menu: everything was very good. I have traveled and lived in 5 star plus hotels all over the world my whole life and I know when people give service and are professionals. But the human touch is still very rare. Someone I/we would like to thank especially for her help is Kiara or Ciara. She had the personal, very professional service that you hardly find anymore. I don't know how she did it, but even though it's the time of year when everything is fully booked and everyone is under stress, she made time for all of the customers and still didn't make anyone wait. She saw so many little things and helped with them, not just for us but for all of her customers. I have rarely seen anyone so friendly, helpful and professional. She already knew what the customers needed and took care of it before we even said it. I would like to thank her again for everything she did for us. "The hotel is a family run property being managed by the Matti family. We specifically chose this one as we wanted to experience the famed Swiss hospitality which unfortunately is found missing in commercially run hotels & yes we were not wrong in our selection ! We reached the place a bit late around 9pm but the check in experience was warm & super smooth. It was taken care of personally by the owner, right from check in to the luggage delivery in our rooms. A warm & smooth check in experience always help. We had booked for suites which were large, clean & the bathroom equipped with a shower cubicle, which also acted as a steam & hamam (now this was something unique) & we enjoyed it every morning. The location is nice, a bit away from the road, to give you a nice & quite stay experience but just 12 min walk to the promenade & the railway station. The best part was the mesmerising view from our balcony. We used to spend hours sitting there & enjoying the swiss beauty. Overall a good staying experience "

"Charming hotel in the centre of Gstaad with onsite parking. Check in was smooth The rooms are nice and spacious with modern bathrooms and very comfy beds Dinner outside on the terrace was lovely and had the best rosti in many years. Would advise to book the restaurant early as we missed out on our first choice although that was partly down to difficulties in communication (we don't speak German and the person didn't speak good English or French) and somewhat inattentiveness of the front desk person who knew we were deciding but chose to book a table for an outside guest right in front of us"

"hat to say about this hotel that has nothing left for him, between the spa which is ridiculous. The chambermaids who allow you to look in the lady’s bag?! I don’t know if we’ve had business stolen but it’s not a behavior to have. Two people did this, a blonde and a brunette with a Van Cleef necklace. Breakfast that passes just, quite strange restaurant, no customers and the food is not exceptional. No sport coach either."

"All the staff were very kind and responsive, but in particular one waiter (from Hungary) was very helpful and kind:) sorry I don’t know his name. I would also like to mention the girl who met us (speaks Russian) and the bartender Emanuel is also very good😊"

"What’s there not to love in this wonderful family-run establishment where the guest is their No. 1 priority: engaging and warm welcome; large, quiet room with balcony overlooking rolling green pastures; king-size bed dressed in crisp white linens that assure a good night’s sleep; spacious modern bathroom with 5-star amenities, refreshing cool water pool with a view of the mountains; al fresco fine dining on the semi-circular terrace with guaranteed alpine vista; top chef gourmet cuisine served by attentive and knowledgeable professionals; a wine list beyond belief; copious and varied hot and cold breakfast offerings; beautifully furnished lounge and bar perfect for afternoon tea or a pre-dinner apero; valet day-time shuttle service to Gstaad village (3-minute drive); expert information from Reception staff on hiking and other activities, etc. etc. I didn’t want to leave Le Grand Chalet but, I know I’ll definitely be back, and for longer next time."

Undoubtedly, yes. But so is a Stradivarius, and no one ever asked it to play for free. From the moment you arrive, the experience unfolds with a kind of understated grandeur that money can’t quite buy — though your wallet will certainly try. The welcome at reception is not so much a check-in as it is a gentle ushering into another realm, where the only thing more elevated than the altitude is the service. The rooms? Thoughtfully decorated with just the right mix of Alpine charm and international elegance — wood meets velvet, tradition flirts with technology — and the views… well, if you must stare wistfully into the void of existence, it might as well be a snow-kissed mountain valley. The breakfast spread deserves its own standing ovation. Served with the kind of grace usually reserved for royal banquets, it ranged from the virtuously healthy to the gloriously sinful, all of it delivered with a smile that made you wonder if the staff had just been told you’d won a small lottery. A complimentary shuttle? Yes. A spa? More accurately, a temple of indulgence. Saunas, steam rooms, chill pools (the kind where even your regrets feel refreshed), and not one but two swimming pools — one indoor, one outdoor — both with jacuzzis whispering, “You deserve this.” The restaurants were equally divine — you don’t dine at Alpina, you commune. Even my vegetarian soul found solace and sophistication on every plate. They say The Alpina is the most sought-after resort during ski season — and I believe them. But even off-season, it’s nothing short of a revelation. I had a fabulous stay, the kind that spoils you forever and teaches you how good life can be if you’re lucky, persistent, or well-networked. Here’s hoping the universe conspires once more and I find myself returning. If not, I shall simply say I once flirted with the divine — and it wore bathrobes from The Alpina Gstaad."
