"We stayed for a week in the hotel for a vacation in Switzerland of 4 weeks; definitely the best experience we had in the country. The staff is very professional and friendly, it was a very nice surprise to find many of them to be fluent in spanish. The food quality is great. The SPA is elegant and gives the feeling of exclusivity. We appreciated the support from Olivier the concierge and the restaurant manager Romina, both of them extremely attentive and made our stay to feel warm and personal. Great Recommendation for couples, as the rooms are confortable, clean and with good taste, the breakfast, spa services, spa facilities, food and drinks options make it a good place for enjoying the beauty of Gstaad."

"We came to Gstaad to celebrate a birthday event with friends. This hotel was on their list of "recommended" hotels. Nice smiles at reception and friendly introduction, but a hotel lives from hard and software. Here the hardware is totally deficient. Superior room, the most expensive room category before the suites. Motel-like room, Ikea style furniture, miniscule bathroom and a fabulous view on the parking lot. Ground floor terrace. Main street to the ski lift. Without drawn curtains and sitting in the dark, everybody can look straight into the room. This is the worst reality check I have encountered in my 60 years of worldwide traveling. No, absolutely no relationship with the website. Either we have been ripped off and we received a massive downgrade or the website is a total scam. Uncomfortable beds and badly isolated walls. We are counting the hours to be able to leave this place. Stay away"

"The rooms are extremely comfortable, the spa leaves nothing to be desired, the breakfast is authentic and regional, and the food in the restaurant is upscale. I stayed at the Groldhotel years ago, but it's significantly better now than it was then. The staff are incredibly friendly, everything is clean and impeccably organized, and the infrastructure is maintained to a very high standard. There are plenty of beautiful bicycles for rent, and the region is like a fairytale. One evening we ate in the restaurant, and the quality of the food was outstanding. Markus Sprenger has even created his own pork sausage – it tastes delicious! The wine list is extensive, with many fine wines at fair prices."

"We were so happy to see our friend Luis Roza waiting to drive us to The Alpina Hotel. He is an amazing friendly person with greatly customer oriented. Upon check in we were told that room was ready as we advised hotel in advance on our arrival time. Also Fd mentioned that they were able to upgrade us but I had to emphasize that we actually paid for the upgrade and she quickly fixed herself We were escorted to the room but to our surprise when we entered the room there was no greeting card nor welcome amenities that we are used to. Anyway we got them later in the night after the turndown service. Freshly squeezed orange juice that is mostly appropriate for check in and not for sleeping. They changed the welcome cake this time to a lemon something not eatable. Room as always impeccable clean and comfortable. One of the best housekeeping service in the world. Mostly we enjoyed dinners in bar thanks to great service and drinks. Food on the other hand is plane, a lot to wish for. They should definitely bring an italian chef that understands and respects the Italian food. Just a recommendation to improve the food and bring some life to it and make The Alpina perfect. Breakfast area always amazing with AnaMaria,Salvatore,Gaia and Giovanni! The new Spa Manager Claire went above and beyond to make us feel amazing and she gave us a surprising 20 minutes sound healing treatment for family that was something super special and memorable. We ll even book it for our next stay. All spa team as always the best ever Raffaela, Laura, Svetlana, Kasya,Lucas and Amelie! All simply the best! See you for winter season!"

"Adorable cabin like rooms. Restaurant is good. 10 min walk to the ‘city center’ and 15-20 min walk to the train station. Awesome amenities for kids like a little racetrack. I made use of the ping pong table. If you’re into skiing/snowy activities this is the spot to be, because the lift is literally across the hotel. Rooms can be a little loud at night. All in all a great experience for the price. I’d stay here again."

"The location is excellent. Because I have allergies, the carpet was very bad for me. It was old and I think it couldn't be cleaned anymore. Otherwise everything was clean. We had to take my dogs with us unexpectedly because the dog sitter all over suddenly didn't want to take care of my dogs anymore. In your hotel you didn't cause any problems but were just understanding and I appreciate that very much. Otherwise we should have left.   In the restaurant a special table was made for us and my four-legged friends. They were all very sweet and very friendly to my Caisy and Flocky. The service from the restaurant was a 5 plus. We really enjoyed the menu: everything was very good. I have traveled and lived in 5 star plus hotels all over the world my whole life and I know when people give service and are professionals. But the human touch is still very rare. Someone I/we would like to thank especially for her help is Kiara or Ciara. She had the personal, very professional service that you hardly find anymore. I don't know how she did it, but even though it's the time of year when everything is fully booked and everyone is under stress, she made time for all of the customers and still didn't make anyone wait. She saw so many little things and helped with them, not just for us but for all of her customers. I have rarely seen anyone so friendly, helpful and professional. She already knew what the customers needed and took care of it before we even said it. I would like to thank her again for everything she did for us. We both agreed that when we come back to this area, we will come back to you just because of Kiara. (I think that's how you spell it). Kind regards Monique ter Meulen"

"We booked the "In love with Saanemöser" package and think that the price/performance ratio was unbeatable. The weather was a disaster, but we made the most of the hotel's fantastic wellness offerings (sauna, massage, shared pool). The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired (including many local delicacies). The evening meal was also good, but sometimes very bland. Otherwise everything was perfect, and we were particularly impressed by the good organization."

Check in was smooth The rooms are nice and spacious with modern bathrooms and very comfy beds Dinner outside on the terrace was lovely and had the best rosti in many years. Would advise to book the restaurant early as we missed out on our first choice although that was partly down to difficulties in communication (we don't speak German and the person didn't speak good English or French) and somewhat inattentiveness of the front desk person who knew we were deciding but chose to book a table for an outside guest right in front of us"

"Simply the most amazing property accompanied with wonderful service especially from spa and restaurant staff! Always great to return and relax at this magical place. All the staff were superb, breakfast even got better this time with some additions of healthy choices. Giovanni and Salvatore were always there to greet us and make the beginning of the day super special. All breakfast team are simply wonderful and they work very hard and we appreciate them being so helpful and positive at all times. Spa as always a pure oasis of relaxation and health. They keep it clean and organized and the treatments are surely best in class! Kudos to Kasya, spa manager, Elinor,Laura and all the team!
