As my wife and I celebrated a special occasion during our recent stay at The Westin Guangzhou, we were met with an extraordinary experience that went beyond our expectations. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a warm welcome, setting the stage for an impeccable stay. Upon checking in, I casually mentioned that it was my wife's birthday. Little did we know that the Westin Guangzhou would exceed our expectations by surprising her with a magnificent birthday cake. The staff arranged the cake with utmost care and consideration, reflecting the hotel's commitment to creating memorable experiences for their guests. Every encounter with the hotel staff was nothing short of outstanding. They were attentive, responsive, and always ready to go the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel stay was fantastic! One of the best and most luxurious hotels I have stayed in. It was huge and a family of 4 could stay comfortably. Wanted to get a day bed for my daughter but she was comfortable sleeping on the huge sofa. The facilities were complete and staff was great and help was given whenever it was needed. Every time my cab arrived at the hotel there was definitely someone opening the door for us.

Excellent service, location, and amenities. Full view of the hotel pool and the lovely city from my room on the 11th floor. Great breakfast buffet with a wide selection of Western and Chinese food. Just a 1-minute walk from Tiyu Xi Lu metro station. Will definitely come back again!

Hotel room: 0 (zero) star Hotel location: 4 (four) stars Hotel staff services: 5 (five stars) We checked into a room on 1/25/2024 for a 6-night stay. We realized the room smelled smoke even though we requested a non-smoking room. The worst was the bathroom's strong, moldy, foul smell, which is a health hazard and unacceptable. On top of it, the in-room HVAC thermostat doesn't work, which we didn't notice until the next morning. We suffered without fresh air circulation and high room temperature all night long. The following day, thanks to the friendly, accommodating front desk staff, we could change to another room with no issues like the previous one. Even the room we changed to also has maintenance issues, such as the ceiling light above the nightstand hanging loose from the ceiling and exploding electrical wires. And the bathroom Faucet is loose, etc., unfortunately. Besides the exceptional overall staff services, the hotel is conveniently located in a local neighborhood, a perfect alternative for tourists who want to experience the truth of Guangzhou. Suppose Baiyun Hotel is positioned as an international five-star hotel. In that case, besides sustaining excellent staff services, improving room maintenance, upgrading the aging hotel, and paying attention to the details is essential. Outstanding staff service or a profound hotel history couldn't substitute necessities such as an operational thermostat or a foul smell in the bathroom. Having said that, I wouldn't consider Baiyun Hotel when we visit Guangzhou next time, nor would I recommend it to others due to my experiences with the hotel room.

A beautiful hotel staff very friendly. Breakfast buffet really nice lots of choices. Had an evening meal, for such a large hotel prices very reasonable . Great service. Will be going back.

The place is good and comfortable. Convenience store is just opposite to the hotel. You can buy anything that you want. The room have kitchen and can cook what you want to eat. Unfortunately, no pan or wok provided.

Our order has 2 breakfast everyday but the hotel record only shows 1. We have to show the trip.com confirmation (luckily husband has printed it out, we can't find it again from the order) and they checked that their record is wrong. Billy at the reception doesn't smile and I think he should ask me to add 1 more breakfast (because there is discount to add in advance) but he didn't do so and make me spent half hour to prove I should have 2 breakfast in the next morning. The manager Yannes has apologized and let us have breakfast in the VIP lounge (also free for tea time and happy hour). The food is only average. The waitress asked me if the food okay, I said the bread of the egg benedict is too soft. Then she answered usually people dont' eat the bread. Do you think her answer is so strange? The hotel is grand, the garden and pond is beautiful, room is cozy but you can hear the noise in the next room. The cleaning lady has good smile and polite. Very close to the MTR station and the restaurant Dim Dou Duck.

The biggest hotel I’ve stayed in Guangzhou. Was very happy to see the huge room with a separate living area, bathtub, separate shower and toilet. Then the leakage happened. What a shame, don’t know why there is a flood whenever we use the shower. The bathtub, toilet area and sink area is fine, but the water will flood most of the toilet floor after shower, and the worst is there will be a foul smell that comes after. Shower room is just next to the beds, so we ensure the shower door is shut when we sleep to keep the smell away. Other than the shower mishap, everything is perfect, I was surprised to see they even have different charging lines near the dresser and the tv area, very thoughtful!Location is the best, shopping plaza just across the road with a delicious dim sum restaurant on the 2nd floor, be sure to go early, I reached close to 11am and que for almost an hour to get a seat. The super market in the shopping plaza is expensive but the bread offers buy 2 free 1 if you go after 8pm, the bread is so tasty, I brought back to sg and ate for 2 days it still taste very good. Bought kiwis and persimmon back to sg and both taste very good as well. Subway is just 3 mins away and easily to get taxis from the hotel or from the roadside. Walk about 30 mins to qing hui yuan, one of the famous garden in Guangzhou, visit the huang fei hong and ye wen gallery. Take the subway 2 stops to Beijing bu xing jie, plenty of shops and vibrant place, it’s a must go. Really love the location of this old hotel, so convenient and surrounded by shopping and eateries, just need to make sure to have a shower room that doesn’t leak.

I was a solo traveler so the main problem for me was plenty running screaming children in the hallway. The door to my room didn’t block all the noise from the outside so I could hear those children running and yelling most all the time. I understand maybe this hotel is a family friendly one but at least try to give some quiet space for travelers without kids. The room was clean and nice, the view from the room was amazing because of the location. The breakfast is nice as well not mentioning the same running children in the restaurant which could cause to some unpleasant accidents.
