The hotel stay was fantastic! One of the best and most luxurious hotels I have stayed in. It was huge and a family of 4 could stay comfortably. Wanted to get a day bed for my daughter but she was comfortable sleeping on the huge sofa. The facilities were complete and staff was great and help was given whenever it was needed. Every time my cab arrived at the hotel there was definitely someone opening the door for us.

Hotel room: 0 (zero) star Hotel location: 4 (four) stars Hotel staff services: 5 (five stars) We checked into a room on 1/25/2024 for a 6-night stay. We realized the room smelled smoke even though we requested a non-smoking room. The worst was the bathroom's strong, moldy, foul smell, which is a health hazard and unacceptable. On top of it, the in-room HVAC thermostat doesn't work, which we didn't notice until the next morning. We suffered without fresh air circulation and high room temperature all night long. The following day, thanks to the friendly, accommodating front desk staff, we could change to another room with no issues like the previous one. Even the room we changed to also has maintenance issues, such as the ceiling light above the nightstand hanging loose from the ceiling and exploding electrical wires. And the bathroom Faucet is loose, etc., unfortunately. Besides the exceptional overall staff services, the hotel is conveniently located in a local neighborhood, a perfect alternative for tourists who want to experience the truth of Guangzhou. Suppose Baiyun Hotel is positioned as an international five-star hotel. In that case, besides sustaining excellent staff services, improving room maintenance, upgrading the aging hotel, and paying attention to the details is essential. Outstanding staff service or a profound hotel history couldn't substitute necessities such as an operational thermostat or a foul smell in the bathroom. Having said that, I wouldn't consider Baiyun Hotel when we visit Guangzhou next time, nor would I recommend it to others due to my experiences with the hotel room.

Our order has 2 breakfast everyday but the hotel record only shows 1. We have to show the trip.com confirmation (luckily husband has printed it out, we can't find it again from the order) and they checked that their record is wrong. Billy at the reception doesn't smile and I think he should ask me to add 1 more breakfast (because there is discount to add in advance) but he didn't do so and make me spent half hour to prove I should have 2 breakfast in the next morning. The manager Yannes has apologized and let us have breakfast in the VIP lounge (also free for tea time and happy hour). The food is only average. The waitress asked me if the food okay, I said the bread of the egg benedict is too soft. Then she answered usually people dont' eat the bread. Do you think her answer is so strange? The hotel is grand, the garden and pond is beautiful, room is cozy but you can hear the noise in the next room. The cleaning lady has good smile and polite. Very close to the MTR station and the restaurant Dim Dou Duck.

It is an old four-star hotel. The decoration is a bit old, but the hygiene is pretty good. It is managed by Radisson Hotel (most of Radisson's hotels are five-star hotels). The service attitude is very good and it responds to guests' needs in a timely manner. The breakfast is very good. During the Spring Festival, there are few restaurants outside. You can have lunch and dinner at the restaurant on the third floor of the hotel. There is also Zhejiang cuisine, which tastes good and feels basically the same as in Hangzhou. The hotel's location is convenient for transportation. It is very close to the Huanghuagang subway station and the zoo bus terminal, and the Guangzhou Zoo is right next to it. The only thing that didn't feel good was that the air conditioner only had heating. It was so hot that I couldn't sleep at night, so I had to turn off the air conditioner and open the windows to cool down. However, the flaws are not hidden. Compared with similar hotels in the same area, it is very cost-effective and deserves a 5-point rating.

The service attitude at the front desk was also very good. They thoughtfully prepared silent earplugs, disposable toilet covers, disinfectant wipes and other small things. It was very nice ~ I also upgraded to a double bed room. I really like the layout of the room. It is antique and the interior is beautiful. There is also a small refrigerator. When I came to Guangzhou before, I stayed in Linhexi and I was familiar with it. When I was looking for a hotel this time, I found that a new one had opened here and the price was right, so I wanted to stay and try it out. The International Trade Center is on the left after exit A of Linhexi Subway Station. The front desk is on the first floor and the hotel is on the sixth floor. The transportation is really convenient. Not only is there a subway station downstairs, but there is also a bus station next to it. It is very convenient to go anywhere. It is just a stop away from the airport on Line 3. The service attitude is good and the sanitation is also good. The selected bright room is more than 20 square meters and has everything you need. It was the marble wall on the glass side of the washbasin that leaked. When I first moved in and entered the room, I put my makeup bag on the countertop and it got wet inside and out. Later, I asked the cleaning lady and she said that this problem did exist. All in all, it was a successful new hotel experience. I will choose this hotel again next time I come to Guangzhou.
