Hilton Garden Inn Guangzhou Tianhe

Poor value for money. For a 500-a-night hotel, the facilities are very ordinary. 1. The view from the window was blocked by signs and air conditioning units, completely obscured and covered in trash. We had to ask the front desk to move us to the 10th floor to get a more open view, although it was still facing dilapidated buildings and completely different from the photos. 2. The fridge wasn't plugged in, and there was no clear indication. We only realized it wasn't plugged in after leaving a cake in it overnight. We then found a notice tucked into a gap in the table saying to save electricity, so the fridge is unplugged by default. 3. The 8th floor had a strong smell of disinfectant. 4. Inconvenient transportation. While not far from the subway station as the crow flies, it's not a short walk. No ride-hailing cars would accept our requests, so we ended up having to take the bus. 5. The shampoo was terrible; my hair felt like I'd washed it with soapy water afterwards.

The room was quite spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Worth coming back again?

The room's cleanliness was really, really poor. Plus, the lightbulb kept flickering as if there was a loose connection, and you could hear crackling sounds from the current. There were even holes in the duvet. And to top it off, there were small spiders under the nightstand.

The hotel was decent, but the power went out suddenly once in the middle of our stay. The hotel didn't seem to know how to handle it and didn't give us any updates. Also, the bathroom light kept flickering, and there was a strange smell in the room if the air conditioning was turned off. I'm a light sleeper, and the room facing the overpass was very noisy, so I didn't get much sleep.

This is my third stay at the Hilton Dinglong. I initially chose it because many of my friends found its location convenient and public transport easily accessible. I even stayed here just two months after it opened. Back then, my experience was like paying for an Atour, All Seasons, or Xana hotel but receiving full international star-level service. In 2023, I brought friends from the north to experience Guangzhou's historical charm and culinary delights, and we mostly stayed around Xiguan. Before heading back to Meizhou, we stayed one night here, and they said it was the most comfortable night they had in Guangzhou. This time, I was even more pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful; I wasn't hungry at all for lunch, which saved me money and precious time. This stay was made even better by the duty manager, Bao Qiankun. His service was incredibly warm and thoughtful. Knowing I enjoy inviting friends to taste European-standard yellow tea, he proactively upgraded me to a suite for free. I had originally only planned for a short one-day stay but ended up extending it by another day. He even helped courier a forgotten item back to my home free of charge. It truly feels like I met someone genuinely kind and enthusiastic. I wish him all the best in his endeavors!
