Super 8 Select Hotel (Guangzhou Jiangnanxi Metro Station) Reviews

Located in a prime area, this Super 8 hotel is very popular especially among the local Chinese tourists. We stayed here for three nights. I noticed that due to the high demand and peak season, the cleaners energy was overstretched. Hence, the cleanliness of the bathroom was slacked. However, it is a small issue. Generally the cleaners are hardworking, friendly and helpful too. The hotel also provides a piece of disinfected floor towel every day. The front desk ladies are friendly and helpful, too. They are happy to attend all inquiries by the hotel guests. When we realized that the room given to us is a bit noisy, they took the initiative to change another quiet one for us. Extra Free drinking bottled water was provided upon request. They also provide liquid detergent for guests to do their laundry in the laundry room located on the second floor. The breakfast is just a simple Chinese buffet breakfast. Due to the overwhelming crowd, there were not many choices of food left when we arrived at the dining room by 9am. The kitchen staff would not replenish some of the food.

The room was very clean and tidy, with plenty of natural light and fresh air. The front desk staff were also very helpful and friendly.

The location is absolutely fantastic! Right in the heart of Guangzhou's Changgang Avenue, less than 100 meters from the subway, making it super convenient to get around. They offer free parking and breakfast too. It's really close to popular spots like Beijing Road, Shangxiajiu, and Canton Tower – just a few subway stops away. Getting around couldn't be easier!

My child's winter break started, so I booked a hotel and flights to Guangzhou in advance 😂. The 1.2m and 1.8m beds in the family room were what I was most satisfied with. The main reason I chose Guangzhou was that it's warm, unlike cold Shanghai 🥶🤭. My stay experience was great; the hotel breakfast was quite rich, and the cleaning auntie came every day. The front desk even provided thoughtful amenities like laundry detergent, conditioner, makeup remover wipes, sewing kits 🪡, and hair ties. The subway station is right next door, making getting around very convenient. Wanda Outlets is also nearby, perfect for a stroll. Guangzhou has so much delicious food, it's truly a foodie's paradise 😋. Next time, I want to visit Foshan 😂.

I originally booked five nights but only stayed one. I ended up paying a penalty and promptly checked out to switch hotels. Here's why: 1. It was incredibly noisy at night. There was a fan or AC unit outside my window that ran until 5 AM. 2. Just look at the pictures for the cleanliness and condition of the facilities. 3. The room had an unpleasant smell, and it seemed like a lot of air freshener had been sprayed to cover it up. 4. For over 300 yuan a night, the price simply doesn't match the quality of the facilities or the service.

Came to Guangzhou for Chinese New Year and chose Jiangnanxi again. This hotel is great, only a 5-minute walk from the subway station, which is super convenient. The room was pretty good, clean and tidy. With the subway, it's easy to get anywhere, so I was out exploring until 10 PM every night before coming back to the hotel.

The room is quite spacious, clean and tidy, and very close to Jiangnanxi subway station, making it super convenient for getting around. The breakfast options and taste are decent. For an economy hotel, it's excellent value for money.

I have stayed here me and my sister for two nights. The room was good (you get what you pay for). It is clean almost. However we asked for room service to get extra towels and some of the stuff we used during the first day we didn’t get any. And also it was pretty noisy, I don’t know how but we could hear everything going on on the hall. The cleaning aunties talking early in the morning, some kids shouting and some alarm beeping at night. However the location is good and its closer to the metro. The breakfast is not really good, we’ve been in cheaper hotels but they had variety in breakfast at least some toasts and jam.

The service was great, and the location was excellent. However, the hygiene wasn't up to par; there was hair in the toilet. It also seemed like someone was smoking in a nearby room, as the smell of smoke was incredibly strong in the middle of the night, forcing us to open the window to air it out. The next day, I asked the front desk staff to switch rooms for us. Despite that, the location is truly fantastic, and the dim sum nearby is delicious.

Let's start with the positives! They have everything you need, and the service is great; they'll get you whatever you ask for. Now for the negatives! The bed was too hard, so hard that my back has been hurting for days!!! The room they gave me was incredibly noisy, with lots of loud sounds, and it was right outside a bunch of air conditioning units!!! I had to use earplugs to sleep.

The room was comfortable, the environment was beautiful, and it was very clean and especially quiet.

The room was spotless, and they even gave me a free upgrade! The front desk staff, especially the lady, was super nice. Plus, it's incredibly close to the subway station!

The hotel's location is excellent, with a shopping mall and food street nearby. Plus, breakfast is included.
