Romantic Theme Hotel Guangzhou

Many rooms had a sewage smell, and I had to switch rooms three times, only to find the same issue in 1026, 1029 (intermittent), and 1012 (stronger smell). The windows only opened a tiny crack, making ventilation poor. I had planned to stay here for over ten days given the price, but these fundamental issues, which the hotel couldn't resolve, made it impossible. The front desk service was okay, but the hygiene was quite bad. Before checking in, I had specifically asked the hotel to change the sheets to fresh ones, as I wouldn't need them changed again during my stay. However, upon check-in, I found the sheets were dirty. Luckily, a cleaning lady was around, so I asked her to change them, explaining she wouldn't have to bother changing them for the next few days. But she refused, which was really frustrating. I didn't bother arguing and just asked for them to be changed the next day. If they could fix the sewage smell properly, not just cover it up with air fresheners, improve the hygiene, and if the cleaning staff had a better attitude, I think I would have been satisfied.

The room was meticulously cleaned and tidy, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. Check-in at the front desk was efficient and friendly. The environment was quiet, making for a pleasant and great value stay.
