Heshe Lakeside Resort

Wonderful place, delicious breakfast : totally worthy, we recommand !

We really enjoyed staying in this hotel, it's very quiet place and the room is spacious. The hotel is a bit far from the center but it's very close to the Reed flute Cave which is must see place in Guilin. The view was beautiful but starts from morning and during the day time , there are many boats with people on the lake and they can clearly observe your room so no any privacy. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they even call us in advance to check what time we arrive, from which station etc. I told them that me and my wife having honeymoon so they made a surprise for us such as flowers and fruits. The breakfast wasn't really good though, not many options only Guilin noodles. They organized a transfer for us to the wharf for double price but the car was in a bad condition and not very comfortable. Overall it was good.

Didn’t expect this trip would become one of the best trips I’ve been on in China. Came without much expectation, but this resort is like a nice small community where people from all over the world meet in the common area or lunch time. We even had Christmas dinner prepared by their chef who can cook both western and Chinese food. The owner John is one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve met. Anyone would be lucky to meet him as he can talk to you about a lot of things such as news, global matters and sports. The receptionists and the owner are fluent in Chinese and English. This resort is especially popular with Hong Kongers and westerners as it’s quiet, chill and facing the lake. Only 10 min taxi ride can get you to the city center. Here the average taxi ride is only US$2. The food there was superb surprisingly but it doesn’t even cost much. For US$10 per person, you could get one big fish or 2-3 dishes. The room has heater and AC. The hot shower is nice too. In the lobby, they even showcase some old and contemporary Chinese art pieces. The patio outside is my fapvorte as you can just enjoy your coffee or tea overlooking the lake under the sun. If you are active like me, there’s a running track and a hike right around the corner. So bring your active gear! I can’t recommend this place enough.

Beautiful place, friendly staff. Special thanks to Michelle the receptionist. She’s so helpful and friendly. She can speak English well too! Hotel is very comfortable and close to the Reed flyer Caves- about 10 minutes walk.

Loved the cozy hotel by a lake surrounded by mountains. The room was huge. I found a Meituan electric bike and explored the area. As we only had one afternoon in Guilin before leaving I think this hotel was perfect.

We arrived late at Guilin (21:00), no available public transportation to the hotel. We take a taxi and not easy to find the hotel during the night. The hotel is under renovation but no smell. The room is nice and good to have relaxing time to spend. Just next to the pond and cross the road to explore the famous cave of Guilin (Ludi Cave (Reed Flute Cave) 蘆笛岩) The noodle breakfast is really delicious 😋.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The staff was very kind to us. Only the breakfast did not have a good selection, but what we had on offer was nice. All recommendations for this hotel.

Very lovely hotel outside of the city, by a little lake and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The hotel is very charming, with big rooms full of light. Staff was super friendly and helping. Lovely stay! To get to the city, it’s easy to order a cab or walk a little bit to et a bike or a scooter.
