"This hotel has a fantastic central location, which is its biggest selling point. However, there are a few things to know before booking. the parking: while they offer underground parking for €5 a day, it’s not on-site. It’s quite a walk from the hotel, and there is no lift in the garage, only stairs. If you are traveling with heavy luggage, this is a real challenge, as you’ll have to carry your bags up and down those stairs.For a 4-star property, I was also surprised by the lack of concierge service and some dated room features. Our room was very dark due to poor lighting, and the safe wasn’t working. The door also requires an old-fashioned key to lock and unlock, which felt a bit inconvenient. On a positive note, we chose to sit outside for breakfast, and the outdoor setting was very pleasant and made for a nice start to the day."

"The hotel was under renovation, and the workers started their day at 6:00 AM, talking very loudly. We were there on holiday with friends and didn't want to be woken up as if we were going to work. The bathtub was dirty, the bathroom mirror was broken, and the floorboards were coming loose. The windows didn't open properly, so we couldn't go out onto the terrace. As for the pool, we couldn't swim because there were electrical wires and construction tools all around it. And finally, the breakfast was disappointing; there wasn't much to eat before heading out for a day at the market."

"We have just returned from our Guimarães area trip. We had the pleasure of staying for five nights at 1720 Quinta da Cancela, located between Guimarães and Braga. Our host, Arthur, and his family, are the 5th and 6th generation living on this 300+ year old property surrounded by vineyards. He produces wine, hosts special events and wine tastings, and offers bed and breakfast accommodations. There are beautiful views to enjoy. Our room was located in the former wine cellar and was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was tasty and healthy, sourced from local farms. His wine is excellent. And finally, one could not ask for a more knowledgeable, gracious and friendly host. Thank you, Arthur. We’ll be back. 🍷☺️🍷"

"We had a wonderful stay at Grove Houses. The place is absolutely beautiful, with a magical park and a house full of history and character. The welcome was excellent and very warm. The breakfast was generous, with a huge selection of fresh fruit, which we really enjoyed. A perfect stay and excellent value for money. We would definitely come back!"

"We had a fantastic experience in Santa Lucia Apartments in Guimarães, we stayed in a family (3 adults) and couldn't have chosen better. The apartment was perfectly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, creating a comfortable environment that made us feel really at home. The location is excellent: very close to the main attractions of the city, which was perfect for us, since we participated in the half-Marathon of Guimarãs. We also highlighted the attention and sympathy of the collaborator Carlos, always available and ready to help in everything. We are surely a accommodation that we strongly recommend and to which we hope to return."

"I hate to give a less than stellar review because it is a beautiful place, stylish and nice location. We stayed for 2 nights and because we don’t speak Portuguese I think we were not very welcome. We traveled in Europe for 6 weeks and this is the coldest reception we received. We felt like an inconvenience rather than a welcomed guest. This really tainted our experience and otherwise I think we would have enjoyed it. There were small things with our room as well- a wardrobe with no hangers, no hand soap at the sink, robes but missing the belts-weird but just small things. They did leave us a lovely cheese platter and bottle of wine which was wonderful."
