Mainland citizens can check in themselves, but travelers with Taiwan Compatriot Permits need to find staff for check-in. Perhaps because there weren't many Taiwan compatriots staying there, the check-in process took a while. But the staff were very polite, offering me a bottle of water and letting me sit in the lobby. The lobby has a washing machine, vending machine, and a kitchenette with a microwave. You need to swipe your room card to enter the lobby, elevator, and rooms, which feels very safe. The room was large and clean, and all the necessary amenities were provided. I stayed in a room by the window; with the window closed, it was very quiet, and I couldn't hear any outside noise. Excellent.
