One of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. We booked a room on July 16, 2026, solely to change clothes before visiting Guruvayur Temple. We didn’t stay overnight and didn’t even use the room for an hour. Despite that, we were charged the full day’s room rent (around ₹4,000 plus taxes). As if that wasn’t enough, the management demanded an additional ₹1,000 per child. This felt like nothing more than an attempt to extract extra money from pilgrims. The most disturbing part was their complete lack of humanity. Even after paying the full room charges, the manager refused to allow my elderly parents to use the restroom. Denying such a basic necessity to senior citizens is simply unacceptable. We have traveled extensively and understand that every hotel has policies, but policies should never come at the cost of basic human decency and compassion. Instead of making devotees feel welcome, this hotel left us feeling exploited. We will never stay here again and will strongly discourage our friends and family from choosing this property. If you’re visiting Guruvayur Temple, I recommend looking for a hotel that values its guests and treats them with respect rather than viewing them as an opportunity to make extra money. A truly disappointing experience that overshadowed what should have been a peaceful and spiritual visit.
