We stayed here for the Hanok experience and had a good taste of it. Built with care from owners, very impressed with their dedication to honor the tradition. Breakfast was bibimbap. Bathroom basic with some mosquitos. Overall good base for Gyeongju.

I wish we could give Mr and Mrs Kim and their most lovely Hanok even more stars!!! It’s a truly lovely place with amazing owners who are warm, friendly and will make you leave with lasting memories!! Our absolute best travel experience!! Mr. Kim spends time with every guest making sure Gyeongju is so special for them. He helped us meet The Best Driver -another Mr Kim. He is tops- using translator making sure you see the highlights using his taxi. Mrs Kim is a wonderful chef making delicious traditional breakfasts!! Book early so they have space. Conveniently located but very peaceful!!! Truly we didn’t want to leave…. Thank you Mr/ Mrs Kim And the Best Driver Mr. Kim

The perfect Hanok experience with the perfect hosts. Location is very central yet noise whatsoever. We slept peacefully all 3 nights. Mr Kim is great with directions and hints and Mrs Kim is an absolute pleasure - so lovely. We left with recipes and a beautiful memory of a lovely stay. You won’t find better than this place but book well ahead. There are only 5 rooms.

Our favourite stay in Korea that we highly recommend. Traditional, great location, amazing breakfast prepared by the owner and the hospitality was so welcoming. The owner couple gave us so much information and help to see the area. It was a memorable stay in a traditional room.

We loved our two night stay at the Hanok Inn. Right from the get go, you could tell Mrs. Kim was kind and efficient in her communications. A week before our arrival she sent us the most helpful advice about how to reach her from Seoul as well as what we could see in Gyeongju-si and environs. Mrs. Kim is truly a living national treasure and great ambassador for Korea. She kindly arranged a fabulous driver to pick us up from our Golgusa Temple afternoon experience. She and her husband arranged our transport to Seokgurum, Bolguksa and Tongdosa and Busan. Mrs. Kim is an excellent cook and she takes great pride in introducing Korean cuisine to her guests. Everything is home made and it must take her hours to prepare such wonderful Bibimbap and side dishes all beautifully presented. Vegetarians are well catered to and the breakfast is huge and will last you until dinner. Mr. Kim goes over the main sights of Gyeongju with you with a map before you set out. He is also happy to show you traditional Korean musical instruments. Mr. Kim is a retired architect and he designed the Hanok faithfully to traditional standards. The Hanok is in the center of Gyeongju but very quiet. Their Hanok is the tallest one in town and affords the best view. Our room on the second floor was the smallest (there are two more rooms on that floor) but afforded the best view. It would suit a single person or couple better than friends. There are more spacious rooms on the ground floor. Nothing was too much trouble for the Kims who were very welcoming. We loved being their guests!

We enjoyed our stay at Hanok Inn a lot. The attention to detail that went into designing and outfitting the rooms was impressive. The mats on the heated floors were so comfortable. The owners were very friendly, clearly cared about their guests, and were happy to talk about their cultural heritage. The breakfast was delicious. This was a true highlight.
