Rivertain Hotel Gyeongju Reviews

Hotel location is 5mins from the intercity bus terminal and about 20mins from the main tourist area. Hotel receptionists are friendly to assist tourists with queries. Korean breakfast comes with the rate and is the same everyday but decent to start with. Room cleanliness is great and comes with toiletries, bathtub, LG styler, Netflix OTT. Walls are effective in blocking out surrounding rooms’ noise for good sleep. A recommended base for short travel to gyeongju.

The room was a bit small, making it difficult to do work there, and the lighting was a bit dim; the indoor illumination wasn't quite sufficient. The front desk has a translator that can speak Chinese, and they use it to communicate, which is generally quite accurate. Breakfast is automatically included with the stay and charged according to the actual number of guests. If you underestimated the number of people when booking, it costs 30,000 KRW per person per day. Breakfast ends before 9:30 AM. A few dishes taste good, but about 70% of the items don't change, so after three days, it's pretty much the same. The stir-fried pork is tasty, but the kimchi is just average. Housekeeping isn't done daily, and staff don't enter the room. Towels and water are hung on the doorknob every day. If you're unfamiliar with transportation or restaurants nearby, you can ask the ladies at the front desk, and they'll help you out. Not far from the entrance, near the road, there's a bus stop and an intercity bus station. About 100 meters to the right of the hotel, there's a cold noodle restaurant that's super delicious. I've had cold noodles over ten times since starting in Gyeongju, but I found this one to be the best (see pictures 12-13). The Korean owner there can even speak Chinese and mentioned visiting many cities in China.

Room is clean and spacious. I stayed in a few hotels in this Korea trio and this is the only one that provided toothbrushes. There is a clothes styler in the room which is amazing. Staff is friendly. We were pleasantly surprised that breakfast is provided. A very good spread with some Korean and western dishes. The breakfast is delicious! The standing shower is in the bathtub and the shower glass panel can't prevent splattering of water during shower. The floor tend to be wet after shower, but not a big issue. There is also a footbath where you can relax while watching the scenery.

Front desk was friendly and approachable but the staff at the breakfast buffet/kitchen was very hostile ＞＜ We booked 3 rooms - one of the room constantly had a clogged toilet - my family member wanted to use the washroom at night but it started flushing brown water upwards and it got all over the floor. We asked the front desk twice for help to resolve the issue in the morning but when we returned in the evening - we came back to the dirty toilet. The next day - the same issue came back so it was inconvenient for us. But the cleaning lady was very nice.

Room was big. Appreciate the LG steam closet. Location was ok - need to walk a bit to where the action is. Breakfast - food was better than expected.

It’s a great hotel and the rooms are spacious. We especially liked the lg styler as we were able to refresh our clothes on a hot day. The staff were great. The room wasnt as clean as i had liked. The toilet door had a big white mark on the glass where it had not been cleaned and there was dust all over the counter space in the main room and finger prints. Also there was a sewer smell that kept coming from the toilet.

Enjoyable hotel in a quite location but close enough to major tourist attractions. I recommend renting a bike from the nearby store and going along the river during sunset. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and modern. Recommending for couples and solo travelers.

We arrived early around 115pm and wanting to leave our bags at the hotel before we explore area, however there was no one at the reception desk. Couldn't find any staff in the lobby area as well. We tried to call the hotel but couldn't get through the number. We waited for about 20min before the reception staff returned from her lunch. The staff was not very friendly and quite insistent on the 4pm check-in time, although we could tell that the hotel was not at full capacity.. The toilet layout is a bit awkward, the toilet door (when opened) is blocking the way at the washing area. Other than this, we were happy with the hotel stay in general. The location is great, right beside the intercity bus terminal, and near to attractions and restaurants. Buffet breakfast was delicious.

A renovated, clean, and comfortable hotel with good facilities. The location is very convenient, with plenty of restaurants nearby, and most of the city's main attractions are within walking distance. The reception staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. A great choice for exploring the city.

The room facilities are new, clean, and there's no unpleasant smell; the toilet is very comfortable. It's just a few minutes' walk to the intercity bus station, express bus terminal, and regular bus stops. You can walk to the commercial area and city attractions in about 20 minutes. There are many restaurants nearby, and the Central Market is also close, which is very convenient. The breakfast is also fantastic, with a wide variety of dishes and great taste, like Korean stir-fried pork, sweet rice punch, and rice that's fresher and more delicious than what you'd find in outside restaurants. The only minor downsides are that there's no shower curtain for the bathtub, so water tends to splash onto the floor, and rooms facing the main road on the opposite side of the entrance can be noisy. It's not very quiet if you open the window for ventilation.

Best possible location in gyeongju in my opinion, right by the central bus station, amazing. Room was very clean, big, and comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing and not good at all.

Very pleasant hotel in Gyeongju with a peaceful atmosphere and good location near the main attractions. The room was spacious and comfortable, and everything was clean. Perfect place to relax after sightseeing around the historic areas.
