Stayed with friends and had a great time. Aracely was a lovely host making us feel most welcome. She provided dinner and breakfast, both of which we really enjoyed. She had lots of local knowledge which we found helpful. Excellent rooms and, even though it was very cold having arrived from Quito, we were really warm in bed and slept well. A really great location, just a couple of minutes off the main highway - so easy to reach from Quito and also easy to get to Cotopaxi National Park.

Super friendly atmosphere and very helpful hosts. We experienced bad weather but Aracely gave us good advice to fill our days with lasting memories. Truly felt like home away from home!! Close to the National Park entrance. Hosts will assist in helping you plan your time.

We really enjoyed our stay. Aracely is a great host, she knows a lot about the area and all the volcanos. We booked a cotopaxi tour with guide and she arranged a good price for us. The rooms are good with enough blankets. The food is great, breakfast, lunch and diner. There are also some small local restaurants were you can have typical food as well.

Aracely was an incredible host! Very thoughtful and more than accommodating. Incredibly helpful with organising and giving information on visiting Catopaxi at a very reasonable price! Good Wi-Fi and hot showers! Friendly dogs. Coca te for altitude acclimatisation. Location is really nice especially with the friendly locals and views of surrounding mountains. Could not recommend enough, you are treated like a member of the family with genuine warmth and kindness. An underrated gem!

Aracely is the best host you can imagine! We were stuck here for 18 days during the protests, but we had a really good time! Aracely and her husband made sure we got everything we needed and more. Our room was nice and comfortable and the common kitchen and living room are super cozy. At some cold nights we made a fire and it added to the great atmosphere. We were lucky to have 2 dogs as our pets. Kaiser is super friendly and cuddly, while you need a bit of time to win Papito's heart. There's a small supermarket nearby, as well as a little shop for fruit and veggies. We absolutely loved our stay and enjoyed the views and walks around the village. If you follow the road to El Chaupi until it crossed the train tracks, you have a great view of Cotopaxi! Also the hike to Mt Corazon is totally recommended! We visisted Cotopaxi on a tour arranged by Aracely, and we had the best day!

Estuvimos para pasar el 31 de Diciembre, y fueron las mejores vacaciones que tuvimos en el año 2023. Es un lugar muy acogedor, queda cerca al Cotopaxi. Nosotros decidimos aclimatarnos aquí en MateosPaxi para subir al refugio. Ya para cerrar la reseña, debo agradecer al alojamiento por su calidez humana, por su atención, por estar pendientes de todo lo que necesitáramos. Gustosos volveremos en el 2024.
