catba new city hotel

The hotel is clean, new, and spacious, with a balcony. It offers great value for money; I was very satisfied with my three-day stay. Breakfast is simple, just coffee with toast or coffee with egg pancakes. They also provide car rental service. I highly recommend this apartment hotel to everyone.

Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms with full amenities, great location right next to the market, with an underground parking garage, close to the central dining area and Cat Co beach.

The hotel is good, clean, and recently renovated. The beds in the room are very comfortable. Everything looks picture-perfect, but there are a few minor downsides. The breakfast is very simple, with only one hot dish and coffee (or tea). However, the staff is very friendly and attentive. We probably visited during the off-season, as there were very few people in the city and at the hotel.

The hotel itself isn't bad. We got a large room, though it had a view of mossy rooftops and peeling walls on the fourth floor. A higher floor probably would have been better. The first thing we noticed was that there was no safe in the room. Check-in didn't go well. Our reservation wasn't in their system, so we had to communicate with customer support for a long time until everything was sorted out. The manager who handled our check-in seemed to view the resolution as a major accomplishment for which he deserved an award. Later, when he started pushing various tickets and services on us and we declined, he lost all interest and simply started ignoring our requests. The hotel was 100% empty, but we still weren't allowed to check in until after two o'clock. Then, breakfast absolutely shocked us. Instead of what was pictured in the menu, we were given the cheapest instant soup. And you can only choose one dish from the menu. The next day, we were served scrambled eggs with two slices of cucumber and two stale pieces of bread – and that was the entire breakfast. Breakfast is from 7-9, but the cook doesn't arrive until 8 AM. In fact, none of the staff appear before 8. During the day, there's no one at the reception desk. I do not recommend this hotel. It's empty for a reason. By the way, some rooms don't even have windows. Or rather, they do, but they face a blank corridor wall.

The wrong room was assigned, which was a bad start. I had booked a room with a balcony and a window, but we were given a room without a balcony. The existing window opened onto the hallway, which meant it was impossible to keep open if we wanted privacy. I had read that the breakfast was delicious, but a coffee and two biscuits isn't what I'd call delicious, even though the photos made it look promising. It's a shame, because the staff was very friendly and pleasant. We also never managed to find the sauna that was described. In short, I'll put it down to being off-season and having very limited staff, which might explain these discrepancies.

The room was fantastic, perfect for a family trip with three very comfortable beds. Great value for money! Most importantly, the lady at the front desk was incredibly kind and friendly. She spoke some Chinese and was available to communicate via WeChat. We could reach out to her directly on WeChat for anything we needed. She made it super easy to get to Beach 1, Beach 2, and Beach 3. She'd arrange round-trip shuttles for us, and it only cost 3 yuan per person to get to the beach, which was much cheaper than a taxi. She even got us a cheaper ride to the pier than what we could find ourselves. She truly helped us a lot, and I was extremely satisfied with her service. She always greeted guests with a smile. The scenery on Cat Ba Island is truly amazing. We traveled during the off-season and had the beach almost entirely to ourselves.

Absolutely amazing! I'll definitely book again next time. Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuu

The lady at the front desk was very kind.
