The location was amazing right when you get off from Shinjuku - the amenities are nice and the staff helpful. Just note that checkout is at 10:00AM and getting a late one requires you to pay. A bit pricey, but not in comparison to other options in Hakone.

The lady at the front desk spoke incredibly fast, regardless of whether you understood her or not. She quickly scribbled on a piece of paper, rapidly fulfilling her duty to inform, clearly a very indifferent person. When the air conditioner started in the room, it sounded like a turbocharger; the equipment is old. In the morning, a broadcast came on in the room, asking people to go to the parking lot (it seemed to be related to a fire). The rooms are very different than the ones in the pictures. They are ugly and old, same as the bathroom. I really don`t recommend.

This hotel is conveniently located. It is a traditional Japanese hotel with a lot of facilities. It is very beautiful, particularly the garden which is big and serene. The hot spring having both indoor and outdoor pools is impressive. The dining experience is fantastic because the setting is cosy and the food is extremely delicious. The mattresses, neither too soft, nor too hard, are very comfortable.

It's a cozy and quiet ryokan-style hotel with beautiful garden and onsen, close to the train station. Room is a little bit outdate, but most of the amenities presented. Free drinks available. A little disappoint, that they don't change men and women onsens each day to try them both :/

Hotel experience was mixed. Positive: the hotel site has a lot of history, the Japanese garden was beautiful and the best part of the hotel. The included meals were good but not spectacular - yet the setting with a view of the Japanese garden was beautiful Negative: the facility was dated with little catch up updares. Only one lock key can be provided n made my wife n my visit to the Onsen very inconvenient as we had to wait for each other all times. The outdoor access for men Onsen had to go thru a common area for men n women so need to re-clothe to get thru, not great. Facility for the Onsen bath were dated n worn out. The in room lighting was dim n equipment facility visibly outdated. The worst was I discovered a big size cockcroach in the bathroom when I got back from Onsen bath in the morning. Smashed it n picture enclosed. We had high expectations coming in to the hotels with strong recommendations by Japanese friends. Was quite underwhelmed. I had stayed at other well rated Ryokans before n most have met or exceeded my expectation. This one fell far short of it.
