Hakuba Ryujin Onsen

Because I booked two separate times, I have two reviews with identical content. The hotel is about a 5-6 minute drive from Hakuba Village, making it very convenient for those driving. Plenty of parking is also available on-site. This is a very new onsen ryokan (hot spring hotel) with all the necessary facilities, making it an excellent choice for ski enthusiasts. The hotel's best feature is the various complimentary services offered at different times, offering excellent value! These include welcome snacks upon check-in, sake and red wine after a soak in the onsen, and soba noodles for late-night snacks—all complimentary. The rooms have underfloor heating, making them very warm and comfortable. The beds are large, and our room type even included an extra bed (which can be pulled out from under the bed), comfortably accommodating three people. The TV supports YouTube and Netflix. Note that room cleaning service is not provided during your stay; the walls are relatively thin, and soundproofing is slightly lacking. Fortunately, the neighbors were very quiet during our stay, but you should still be mindful of the volume at night. The onsen is very relaxing, and the hotel thoughtfully provides a full set of toiletries, including facial cleansing, makeup removal, and skincare products. The space is also quite spacious. However, the ventilation around the sinks is quite strong in winter, so be sure to keep warm while washing up. Additionally, the hotel has a rock bath (similar to a Korean sauna), which I personally loved—it was so comfortable I even fell asleep! The rock bath requires reservations by time slot (one hour per session), so it's recommended to book at the front desk on the day of check-in. For skiers, the hotel has a dry room, which is very convenient. It's only about a 5-minute drive to the nearest ski resort. There's also a bus stop nearby, and free parking is readily available throughout Hakuba, so there's no need to worry. Regarding dining, the hotel breakfast is very plentiful. While some items may be repetitive, the price is reasonable and definitely worth trying. One night, we booked a dinner set menu that included the attached yakiniku (grilled meat) restaurant, where we sampled Shinshu's famous beef, and the overall quality was very high. Compared to traditional onsen ryokans with two meals included in the stay, this yakiniku dinner is more novel and unique!

The staff were cheerful and friendly, which made for a very pleasant experience. The hotel was very clean and well-maintained. They offered services such as a drink bar and late-night ramen at certain times, making for a comfortable stay! I was using the hotel for a mountain climbing trip, so I had an early morning departure, but they kindly allowed me to leave the key at the front desk and check out at that time.

The service was very attentive, the rooms were large and clean, and there was even a private hot spring.

This time I stayed in the newly renovated new wing of the hotel. The room was very comfortable, beautiful and hygienic. The view outside the room was very beautiful. The staff were also very enthusiastic. In addition, free drinks and noodles were provided after taking a bath. I will definitely choose it again next time. here
