Had a great stay at Hotel Oak Forest. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free. The room was spacious, with two futons already laid out for us and two more stored in the wardrobe, as this room was meant for up to four people. The heater/air conditioning worked well and could be adjusted individually, which was a nice touch. The bathroom was comfortable and included a relaxing bathtub. Overall, a very pleasant and convenient stay.

Accommodations in Hakuba are generally quite expensive, but this hotel offers great value for money. It has hot springs, excellent service, breakfast, and shuttle buses to all the major ski resorts.

An older-style hotel, but very clean. It has separate onsens for men and women. Breakfast is served as individual sets. The hotel also has a dinner restaurant, which is convenient because going out to eat without a car isn't easy. The futon-style bedding was comfortable and warm. The bathroom was a bit small. It snowed while I was there, and it was beautiful because the hotel is located in the mountains.

I used to stay in ski resort traditional ryokan however this one is missing its Japanese touches. The dinner and breakfast buffet is a bit disappointing, service is a bit lacking. Location is quite far to walk to the Echoland. The only good thing is that the shuttle bus stops in front of the hotel

Had a really good stay at Oak Forest. Stay accommodated for English speaking guests and assist with luggage hold on day of check in and out. Breakfast provided was really good. Onsen was a welcome part of the stay after a day of ski. Location is a bit inconvenient as it requires a decent walk or taxi to main bus terminal and other resorts. But there is accessible restaurants in walking decent to Echoland. The bus for pickup to resorts is directly in front of the hotel or short walk to Echoland spicy for the hakuba valley bus. Overall recommend but would be amazing if hotel could assist in initial pickup and dropoff transfers to bus terminal for guests with luggage.

Although it's a bit far out, it's easy to find if you're driving, and they offer a shuttle service. Don't expect too much from the breakfast and dinner, as they're pretty standard. However, there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The on-site public bath is fantastic for soaking in after a day of skiing!
