I stayed in Fourways Guest House whilst backpacking in the area. It's in a prime location, close to two supermarkets and a chippy; and just seconds away from Thirsk town centre with its shops, pubs and restaurants. I was greeted upon arrival with a free upgrade to a larger room, which was clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, towels, bedding etc. Owner Mark was very friendly and informative. Breakfast was included with the room and was spot on. Toast and a full English was prepared when I was ready, and a variety of cereals and juices was on offer also. Overall a great stay and I'll look at getting booked in when I'm next staying in the area!

Wonderful and welcoming owner!
Easy walk to the center of the village with many restaurants and pubs. Add in an amazing breakfast with local products!

Having stayed over the years in numerous hotels and guest houses across much of the UK,I recommend "Fourways" highly. It is easy to locate thanks to its prominent sign facing a well known couple of supermatkets. By rail to Thirsk it is a level walk of about 20 odd minutes and Thirsk town centre is a few minutes walk away. Owner Mark is polite and helpful and a good "Chef" providing very good breakfasts in a clean and nicely decorated dining room. My room and ensuite was spotless and had clear fire and general advice well displayed. With a small TV/ Video and tea and coffee provided you can enjoy your stay and a personalised key enables you to come and go from your room via a private entrance adjacent car parking spaces. All in all a first class guesthouse with good value for money tariffs .

Lovely stay at Four ways Guest House. Host very helpful and friendly, breakfast amazing, cooked to order with plenty of choice. Beds comfy and cosy. Would definitely stay there again. Easy access to Thirsk, walking distance

Lovely place to stay in Thirsk close to town centre Hosts very nice openly friendly people very clean and well presented property with very comfortable beds and the breakfast was great ....cooked breakfast made up of good quality local produce -proper English black pudding 😉 frankly don't think you could get better would definitely return

The owner waited up for me due to a later arrival
The bedroom was lovely with hot water in a big en-suite shower
really comfy bed, great breakfast and in the morning due to an oversight the owner went over and beyond his duties to make sure I didn’t miss my train

The room was quiet and clean, with a large bathroom, suitable for people with mobility problems.
A shared fridge and microwave were located outside the room.
There was an opening window to the room, free car parking, and our car was visible from our room.
Fourways was excellently located for Thirsk market square, had Tesco and Lidl stores just next door, an Arts Crntre and cafe across the road and a cinema just 2 mins walk away.
Our host at Fourways was extremely helpful and the breakfasts were very good.
