Hotel Continental Hamburg Hauptbahnhof

Decent hotel for a good price. However, the neighborhood close to the central station and St. Georg is not the safest place at night. No problem at day time.

I was traveling alone. I really liked the room, and I was able to enjoy my breakfast in peace. Normally, I would have given it 5 stars, but on the day I checked out, the cleaner knocked at least four times to see if I was still there. I understand he has a job to do, but check-out wasn't until 12:00; guests should be left alone until then. Some people like to sleep in—especially when facing a flight that won't get them home until the following day. The reception staff were very friendly.

ood location near to Hamburg main station. Check in was slow as there was only one old senior lady at the counter who kept talking to the guests in front of me and told me 5 times “just a moment…” The she left at 3pm and change shift to a young man who was much more efficient and friendly. My room was dark and smell funny but the bathroom is clean. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast was same every day. Restaurant staffs are nice. Would recommend only if you need to be near the train station.

The hotel’s only advantage is its location near the central station. Other than that, the experience was very poor. The hotel is old, poorly maintained, and has terrible soundproofing. I even found hair under the bedsheets, which clearly indicates inadequate cleaning. More seriously, after I had already paid by credit card, I received a late-night notification of an unexplained attempt to charge my card again. The front desk later denied any record of this and offered no apology. This raises serious concerns about hygiene, professionalism, and trustworthiness. Not recommended.

We stayed at Hotel Continental for two nights. The room was very dark even with light on and bathroom was very basic. TV did not work at all and decor looked like been left in 1970s. The lift is very old fashioned one with another sliding door inside. There was no kettle, tea and coffee and run out of hand wash after using twice. I do not know why this hotel classed as 3 stars.

Very basically hotel, if need very quiet for sleep I don’t recommend.

Was a nice room but could use a light for the entryway (maybe I could not find it). On a hot day, air conditioning would be nice, but it was okay for the night. The window in the bathroom would not close but no issues with bugs during our stay. Overall, it was a good stay, and the room was fine for our one-night stay.
