"Visited Hameln for a family event. I'm very glad I chose this hotel for my family. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, very clean and tidy. The breakfast was lovely, excellent choices, fruit,yoghurts, bread, and a plethora of other tasty dishes. Coffee plentiful. The hotel has a small swimming pool and sauna. Parking is available. All in all, it is an excellent choice, located in the heart of the old town. "

"I stayed at the Hotel Krone from March 8th to 10th, 2025, on a half-board basis. I was very satisfied with the hotel itself, and the staff was very polite and friendly. The restaurant, while nicely decorated, consisted entirely of frozen food and instant soups, not anything homemade! Then, to make matters worse, I had a drink with dinner that I had to pay for myself. The bill came to €4.90. I gave the waiter €21 and asked him to round it up to €5. He took the money and left, refusing to give me the €15 change. He then continued serving other guests or stood around in the kitchen. After a while, I called out asking where my money was, and he offered a lame excuse and didn't even issue a formal complaint! When I spoke to the manager about this upon departure, she explained... The restaurant is closed and has a different owner, who gave me his name. The owner is Mr. Darabad, and he's also the waiter who tried to cheat me out of 15 euros. And he's the owner! It's a shame the Hotel zur Krone is getting a bad reputation! Because all the guests think the hotel and restaurant are connected."
