The staff were polite and friendly when available but the bar/restaurant and reception were unattended quite a lot. Cleanliness was lacking. In the bar there were sauce stains on the table and table leg, which I discovered after it got transferred to my shoe. My toilet was also dirty, there were hairs in the bath and the bedroom carpet needed a hoover. The sheets were very clean however. Generally the bedroom needed a lick of paint, some new furniture (the mattress was on some kind of rolling table type frame), and in need of modernisation (plug sockets outdated to today’s needs). The bed wasn’t too comfy in my opinion, but due to the stifling temperatures (despite her provision of a noisy fan in lieu of aircon) and traffic noise, I didn’t really sleep anyway. Just a warning, this isn’t included the good night sleep guarantee so if temperature is an issue for you when sleeping, then this is not the place for you. The breakfast is ok, pretty basic and not worth £16.99. The cooked breakfast is under heat lamps so the food is quite dry/tough and there was only a limited selection of cereal and breads, with some fruit/yogurt. The coffee machine is in a totally different area to the bar and there is only one so you may have to queue for a brew. Juices were also served on the bar, again not in the same area as the breakfast.

Good hotel with comfortable beds and good room service. Excellent buffet breakfast with good choice of cooked items as well as cereals and fruit. Downside was the noisy road, with heavy traffic day and night, which made it hard to sleep. Helpful staff.

I had a really nice one night stay with my 6 and 1 year old children. I had read reports before visiting that the hotel is situated next to a busy road, so I emailed before and asked for a room away from the road which was arranged. On arrival, there was plenty of free parking. We had a welcoming check in and booked our time for breakfast. There is a lift to get up to the upper floors. The room was clean and set up with the single bed and cot for my children. The night was very quiet and we weren't disturbed. We had great service at breakfast and the cooked breakfast was served hot, perfect! Would definitely stay again if in the area. Thank you for a great stay.

Took the family for dinner here as wanted a break from cooking . Wouldn’t have thought of this but it was suggested by a friend . Staff were lovely , everywhere clean and comfortable . Food chosen, steaks , lasagne and chicken pie all arrived together and hot, steaks cooked as requested and salads lovely and fresh .

Hotel is right on the main road with lots of parking. Car park is covered in litter which is probably an ongoing issue being next to the road. Staff were excellent, very helpful and resolved any queries. Bed linen clean. Room was scruffy with poor repairs, poor decoration. Bathroom walls were not cleaned and there were splashes/marks/fluids down all the walls. Fixtures and fittings were old and deteriorating so they were uninviting too. We had a room at the back of the hotel away from the road and just stayed one night. It was convenient and relatively cost effective but the room needs a deep clean and some TLC.

Ok hotel. Bit noisy from the road but clean and comfortable for a 1 night stay. A bit of a walk to the town centre for any decent meal. Petrol station next to it so convenient for an early start. Staff ok. Beds comfortable. Slept ok. It’s a premier inn.
