Let's start with cleanliness. Right after check-in, the cushions on all the seats in the common area were covered in stains, cookie crumbs, and spilled drinks. By the time I checked out, these cushions had all been removed, leaving only wooden sofas on a cold day. This suggests there are no spare cushions for cleaning. The same problem applies to the fabric cushions in the courtyard; they get completely soaked with even a little rain and are never replaced, making the courtyard unusable for relaxation.
Moving to the room, the soaking tub is made of wood. While it's true that this material is difficult to maintain, if you choose to use it, there should be a maintenance plan. Instead, the tub was moldy and constantly emitting a sour smell.
Finally, in the massage room, there were large clumps of dust floating under the massage bed, which I pointed out to the masseuse at the time.
Next, the equipment. I'm not sure if all rooms have this issue or if mine was just near some outdoor machinery, but there was a resonant humming sound throughout my stay. I ended up having to ask the hotel for earplugs in the middle of the night.
On the positive side, the hotel's public hot springs and breakfast are commendable. Upon check-in, there were also plenty of thoughtful touches. While everyone has different preferences and many might not appreciate this 'emotional value,' it does show that the establishment aims to do well.
My main reason for saying all this is that the hotel has clearly invested a lot in its renovation, and it would be a shame for it to decline due to poor management.
