San Premium Hotel - Former Golden Cyclo Hotel

Hoan Kiem District Hanoi|0.76km from Hoàng thành Thăng Long
This is a hidden gem in the midst of the old quarter. A part of Hanoi where a myriad of shops selling a huge range of goods exists next to Hanoi's seemingly endless coffee shops. In very European architecture These small shops are bustling throughout the day. The hotel is nestled comfortably up a side street accessible via both stress, though only one is used by taxis. The staff are extremely friendly and make it their business to ensure the traveller is well looked after. Rooms are clean and come with a stocked fridge with Beer and soft drinks. The air conditioning is superb and in near 40C heat it is so welcoming. The balcony is large. Almost a second room in itself. Sit on the balcony in the evening during a thunder storm and watch the light show in the night sky...tremendous. With the balcony walls being solid, privacy is guaranteed as is safety...not going to fall off this. Breakfast is a pleasant mix of western and Asian. Cold cuts or cooked food. Eggs done by the chef to order. The hotel has a small travel desk so do ask about places to visit. Staff are very knowledgeable. Top tip: get the GRAB or BE app to book your taxis and avoid cab hailing....the risk of being scammed is very high. One final thought...not far is Railway Street. I won't spoli it....go and find out what happens. Get a daily timetable of trains. It is an experience. Highly recommended.

Ba Dinh Square/Giang Vo Convention Center Hanoi|0.5km from Hoàng thành Thăng Long
Because of the host - Perfume, I really want to say we loved this place, but Perfume really is the only thing propping it up that is otherwise quite poor and massively over priced. Perfume is a truly lovely person. So kind and friendly and welcoming. She has a permanent smile and is always going above and beyond to help you out. She will put herself out just to help you however she can at no benefit to her. Because of her, I feel bad for the review but a wonderful person can't undo a bad hotel. The location is amazing. However, the rest of the hotel and stay is a bit of a disaster and at about £35 per night, it's unbelievably over priced. The rooms are very very bad. Botched paint work, bare wires, missing bulbs, broken shower, leaking sink, mouldy fridge, 1 pillow each, in desperate need of decorating. For £10 per night I've experienced much much better high quality stays, so £35 per night for these rooms is quite odd. When people smoke in the alleyway, the smoke comes straight up into the room. Currently (late december) they have building works next door that start before 8am and use industrial drills and lump hammers that vibrate through the room and with ear plugs in is still exceptionally loud. The host can turn your power off from outside the room so if you leave your work laptop plugged in uploading files whilst you go and get a coffee, you come back to your power having been isolated, laptop dead and failed upload for work. We were kindly invited to a family meal on Christmas day by our host, but she spent the whole meal shouting into her phone before excusing herself and leaving us at the table. The hot water doesn't last long enough for 2 people to shower. So you have to pick who showers at night and who showers in the morning. The WiFi router was actually inside our room and even still it was terrible. The wall mounted TV was non functional and looked like just a place to put the WiFi router on top of. The breakfast would be wonderful for 1 morning. But it's the same every day and you choose ONE of either eggs OR pho OR pancakes then you get coffee or juice etc. Once you've had 1 of each option for each morning, you're back to the beginning again. For some reason a vietnamese woman shouts, screams and cries almost every night just outside the hotel. The directions to the hotel are very weird and convoluted when actually it's so simple. Forget the weird alleyway stuff and the alternative number to get dropped off at. It's number 81C and you walk straight into the travel shop which is also the hotel.

The guy at the front desk was very nice and patient. The room is small and has poor soundproofing, but the sanitary conditions are pretty good and not dirty. However, the wires on the water heater seemed to have been burned in a previous fire and had not been replaced, which felt a bit dangerous.

Super cost-effective! The map is between Hoan Kiem Lake and West Lake. I thought it would be remote, but it was actually in a large courtyard in an alley in the busy urban area. There are two bedrooms, one living room and one bathroom. There is a kitchen and dining room, shampoo, toothbrushes, no disposable slippers, trash cans are cleaned every day, bath towels and bottled water are refilled, and linen is not changed. Walk to 36xing Street for 5 minutes, Hoan Kiem Lake, Old Town, Night Market, Tong Xuan Market for 15 minutes, and Confucian Temple for 20 minutes. In short, most of the attractions are within walking distance. The airport uses Grab to take a taxi, 270,000 VND, 80 yuan. Hotel front desk service is super good! The surrounding area is full of Hanoi cuisine.

I stayed at Bi Eco Suites for a total of 6 nights. The staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. It is somewhat slightly difficult to find - the cab driver from the airport had problems and subsequently everyone else who were to pick me up etc. However, I quite liked that I was far enough from the Old Quarter that it wasn’t really loud, and close enough to walk there easily. The rooms are brilliant. Well equipped and spotless. I loved my time here. If I were to stay in Hanoi again, I’d absolutely be staying here!

perfect location- train street and ild quarters on one side and all government establishments on the other. very safe location. facilities- you will find all amenities in such a small space. great space utilisation. services- helped us with to and fro airport cab and Sapa to Hanoi cabs. they provided the best rates. Also allowed us to keep all our 6 bags for 4 hours before we departed for our flights. cleanliness- perfect value for money- 100% loved the caretaker lady who does not understand a single English word but was still very helpful all the time.
Aira Boutique Hanoi Hotel & Spa

Hanoi is one of my favorite cities in the world. The hotel I was accustomed to stay in closed due to pandemic and ensuing travel ban. As I prepared for my next visit to Hanoi, I asked some friends for a recommendation and I was told about a new hotel opening the Aira Boutique Hanoi Hotel & Spa. There were two of us traveling and we booked two king rooms for nine nights and paid one half of the total bill in advance. One of the staff, Hoa, went out her way to help me plan the trip from USA to Hanoi by giving me her WhatsApp number. When we were notified that our planned flight to Hanoi was cancelled, still be cause of COVID travel issues. I notified the hotel and my refund was promptly processed. I appreciate the excellent service!
