Oakwood Residence Hanoi

The environment around West Lake and the nearby restaurants are quite upscale. However, the downside is that there's currently a park being built right in front of the hotel. It's still under construction, but once it's finished, the surroundings should be ideal.

We chose this residence over a hotel for our wedding anniversary family trip, thinking it would be more comfortable, and it turned out to be a great choice. On our first day, we were tired, so it was nice to be able to simply cook dinner at the accommodation and then relax right away. What was really disappointing was not getting a high floor or a lake view, which we had hoped for – perhaps because it was peak season. We ended up on the second floor, and it was quite a shock to be able to clearly see the vivid everyday life of our neighbors through the balcony window in the evenings. We had to keep the curtains closed for the entire duration of our stay. Aside from this, it was a satisfactory stay. Our flight back was at midnight, and we wanted to add a half-day stay, but unfortunately, it was fully booked. However, the hotel was very accommodating: they allowed us to store our luggage at the counter, visit nearby restaurants, and use the pool in the afternoon. This was a huge advantage, as we could swim with the kids and shower before heading straight to the airport. I've been to Hanoi many times, but this was my first time staying in the West Lake area. I really liked the more relaxed atmosphere of this neighborhood compared to other areas. It was great to rent a bicycle from the accommodation, go for a manicure, get a massage nearby, and take a stroll around West Lake. The staff were all incredibly friendly, which I appreciated. Of course, the alley leading to the residence was narrow, and the surrounding area was under constant construction, making entry and exit a bit challenging. However, since we mainly used Grab, it wasn't a major issue. The breakfast was simple and light, and daily cleaning and towel changes made our stay comfortable. The bedding was excellent, and I slept very well. The indoor pool was spacious and not crowded, allowing us to enjoy it leisurely. The water didn't have a strong chemical smell, but it was slightly salty, which was a bit surprising at first but easy to get used to.

My stay here was incredibly disappointing, and I can't find anything positive to say. 1. **Room Condition**: As soon as I walked into the room, I was hit by a strong musty smell. The air circulation was terrible, and the overall cleanliness was really concerning. 2. **Dining Service**: The breakfast selection was very average and didn't meet my expectations at all. Even worse, the plate I used had a distinct fishy odor, which raised serious hygiene and safety concerns. This hotel clearly has major issues with hygiene management and service quality. I strongly advise against staying here.

The bedding was good, but the room showed its age a bit. On the other hand, the service was fast and friendly. As for the location, the access road is under construction and the supermarket is far, but it's not bad since there's a decent banh mi shop right in front of Los Fuego.

📍The hotel is definitely located near West Lake, which can be considered the center of Hanoi. However, its exact location is on a dusty construction site side street, and there are no supermarkets or convenience stores nearby. It was inconvenient having to ride the hotel's bicycles to get anywhere. 📍Facilities The hotel was clean and the room was very spacious. Aside from a washing machine, it had everything you'd need for comfortable living, and the housekeepers did a great job cleaning it thoroughly every day. The breakfast service was also quite good. While the variety wasn't extensive, the menu was diverse and well-prepared, which I appreciated. 📍Pros The biggest advantage is definitely the swimming pool. No regrets there, it was fantastic.

The room was clean and well-equipped, and it even had a balcony. The surrounding area is a bit remote, but it's not too far from the lake.
