La Dolce Vita Hotel

This was our first hotel On our g adventures tour of Vietnam. Plus point was the very friendly and helpful staff. Negatives were a poor room which was damp with a terrible musty smell. The safe did not work and whilst the bathroom was clean the shower was very old and spat out scalding hot water like needles on your skin. I would not recommend

I had an excellent time here. From the moment I arrived, everything ran like clockwork in terms of getting settled in. The room was great, the breakfast lovely, and the staff were superfriendly and could not have been more helpful and welcoming. I really liked staying there and would definitely recommend it.

The hotel is not the most fancy, nor the newest. However, I can't say enough good things about the staff. They are friendly and most helpful. We were there two days before we met our tour group, and the staff recommended places for us to visit and wonderful restaurants nearby. The manager went out of his way - literally - to make our stay memorable. He didn't just tell us how to get tickets for one attraction; he took me there on his motorbike.

Beautiful hotel clean and quiet staff so helpful and friendly service is number 1 the breakfast is delicious location is perfect so close to everything highly recommended to everyone would certainly stay here again when in Hanoi Vietnam!

I came here as part of a group tour with GAdventures so didn’t choose this hotel myself. Everything was fine - nothing amazing but not terrible. The location is pretty good as it’s easy to explore the city from here. The room itself is quite small and we didn’t have enough space to put two suitcases out. Some rooms don’t have windows to the outside but do have a fake windows which open to the central interior courtyard of the hotel instead. The disadvantage of this is that it’s very noisy. The lift is quite slow and the breakfast room is very small. Neither of these are major issues. It’s clearly set up to host big groups on a regular basis which made it good for my visit but might not be what the average traveller is looking for.

Very disappointing hotel. It was well situated in Hanoi in the french quarter so you were right in the thick of it. The staff were friendly but reception area not wonderful and stacks of suitcases piled up everywhere, no other social area . Our room was very tired and had a water tank above us . Every time someone ran hot water we knew! Day and night. Breakfast was adequate Would not stay again

This hotel was booked for us by a tour operator, we flew from Ho Chi Minh city the morning of the booking, we arrived too early so the hotel asked us to come back after 2 pm, we agreed. We arrived after 2 pm to be told there was a water leak in our room, they told us that the hotel was fully booked and they had booked us into another hotel around the corner, we asked was it the same standard as their hotel, they told us it was. Off we went to this hotel, I asked to see the room before we agreed to stay there, it was smelly with no window, the bed cover was torn and the paint was peeling off the walls, so I told them no way, this was not good enough, he then showed us another room that was occupied at the time but we were assured that we could have the room at 7 pm that night, it was an acceptable room so we said yes. We went back to the hotel at 6.45 pm to find that the previous occupant hadn't booked out. At that stage we had had enough, we walked out and booked our own hotel. We told our tour operator what had happened, straight away we had a whatsapp from La Dolca Vita saying that our room had been repaired and we could have our room, they had our contact information and only whatsapped us when the tour operator contacted them to find out what was going on, by then we had already booked ourselves in to another hotel, there followed a spate of excuses and apologies from the Dolca Vita. Just for the hell of it I checked with Agoda, the hotel had 6 rooms available for that night. You cannot trust this hotel, you may book it but you could end up in a 3rd rate hotel around the corner, who knows. Basically this hotel blatantly lied to me about availability and the hotel they tried to get me in to was about 50% cheaper than La Dolce vita.

In all my years of travel, this is the worst experience I have ever had. 1. The hotel needs to teach it's reception staff women manners and how to deal with customers, they are one of the worst front desk staff I have come across. 2. There is no way of contacting the reception from the room, both the phones are not working 3. The AC and fan don't work either, the ventilation is terrible and the room makes you feel suffocated. 4. The bath tub is so small, one can't even stand properly in it. The shower curtains are stinky. 5. The TV doesn't work as well 6. The breakfast timings are from 6.30 am to 9.00am. On a vacation nobody wakes up at 6:30am for breakfast. 7. The hotel lobby and rooms smell of pee. It stinks all over the place. 8. I had asked the reception staff to get my room cleaned one day when I was stepping out. i also hung the "Please clean my room" tag, they forgot and dint bother to get it done. I had to do it myself. 9. The day I was checking out, I had to go down to ask the reception to send someone to collect my bags, to my surprise the reception women laughed and told me to get it down myself. So basically I had to take the trolley and bring the bags down myself. It is the worst hotel in the history of hotels. Due to this reason I do not suggest this dumpster of a hotel in Hanoi. There is literally no point in wasting money or time at this place. It's better they shut down this mockery.
