Hanoi Boutique Hotel & Spa Reviews

We arrived at the hotel around 1 p.m. and couldn’t check in yet, so we went out and came back later in the evening. When we returned around 8 p.m., the front desk was staffed by Lukas, a trainee, who couldn’t find our room for over five minutes. When we finally got to our room — a deluxe room with a window, as stated in our booking — we were shocked. The “window” looked out onto a wall barely 30 cm away. No sunlight could possibly reach the room. To make things worse, there was no shower in the bathroom. We called the reception, and while the lady who answered was polite, her solution was unbelievable: she suggested we take a shower at the spa outside our room. I told her that wasn’t acceptable, and she said she would look for another room, which would take 30 minutes. I decided to go down to the lobby to sort things out in person. Back downstairs, Lukas told me that our room was indeed a “deluxe room with a window facing a wall” — something he claimed was stated on Trip.com (it wasn’t). He then offered to upgrade us to a “deluxe city view” room for an extra charge. I refused, and after some back-and-forth, they finally agreed to move us to another hotel. We were told to wait for transportation, which took about 30 minutes. Two men then arrived on motorcycles and told us to hop on, with all our luggage — one large suitcase, one small suitcase, and two large backpacks. They even planned to strap the luggage to the drivers! I told Lukas this wasn’t possible, and he responded in a very disrespectful tone, saying, “You don’t have to do it, they will.” We refused to ride the motorcycles and called a Grab instead. Fortunately, the hotel covered the fare. The new hotel, Brilliant Hotel & Spa, was great — clean, comfortable, and worth recommending. In short, avoid Boutique Hotel & Spa if you expect a real deluxe room, a proper window, or even a private shower. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.

Was good trip

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in Nov and found the hotel to be nice, clean and quiet enough. The front desk staff keeps to themselve (they might not acknowledge you when you walk past them) but everytime I spoke to them, they were friendly & helful and most importantly, can speak English competently. Note there are room with no windows and most only have a bath tube which is not a convenient as a proper shower. And as the hotel is in a narrower street which means the tour buses have to park further away and the tour guide will walk you to the bus (3 - 4 mins away). The hotel is very close to the Old Quarter district so lots of restaurants and shops around the hotel. As others have mentioned, if you are staying there on the weekend, make sure to go to the night market as the whole street is closed off to cars and lined with clothing & food vendors. One end was packed full of food stalls and people so if you enjoy that, you will love the hustle and bustle of it all.

typical boutique hotel in the Old Quarter district , the difference is in the service which I rate it 6 Star ⭐ service , Lucy and Tracy at the front desk are professional and more than helpful , you have to give this hotel a try to experience the outstanding service 👍👍

Convenient location in the Old Quarter. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Lucy goes out of her way to remember the names of the guests. Delicious pho at breakfast!

Great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast!

Unfortunately I didn’t not enjoy my stay in this hotel. I’ve booked a suite with a city view for 3 nights and I was expecting a higher standing. The hotel: It’s supposed to be a boutique hotel and spa, but I haven’t experienced any Zen. I was not offered to go visit the Spa part, I was not offered a discovery session and I was not asked to enjoy a spa. A little disappointed, I stayed 3 nights and there was nothing to do. No access to a swimming pool, or a gym, so no relaxation... The hotel is outdated and dark, it deserves a new decoration. It was less well than in the photos. Usually Inlike to take pictures of the hotel and room I stay in but I haven’t take any this time… Lobby: Very good service at the reception, the staff was up to speed and an excellent level of English and communication. They helped us choose an activity for Ninh Binh and it was a prenium service with great benefits. I recommend. The room: The suite is big for nothing and so dark because the distribution of room is not meeting to standards of nowadays. The living room space is too dark and without natural light, which does not make it appealing. We stayed most of the time in the room in front of the window, so it is better to book only a 20 m2 room instead of such a big room, you will save money. I was in another boutique hotel just before that one and it was superb. Breakfast: Again, everything is dark, too subdued. I didn’t enjoy the buffet for breakfast, there aren’t many choices and it wasn’t very tasty. Three times, I asked for scrambled eggs and was served an omelette ... However, the staff is very welcoming and kind.

The hotel location is ideal to explore the city. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious! Only complaint is that the double bed was two single mattresses together so lying together in the middle was uncomfortable

Love the hospitality of the hotel and warmth welcoming staff when we arrived. The location was strategic to explore the busy hanoi 😊. Room a bit small but complete with amenities, ac, heater, separate bathroom and closet so i can take turn with my hubby to use it.

I stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The location is amazing you are right in the old quarter but on a quiet road so the noise is minimal at night. The staff are amazing so friendly, lovely and happy to help with many recommendations, I would definitely stay here again.
