Mercure Harbin Central Street Sophia Church

The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation nearby and even walkable access. They also offer warm late-night snacks, which was a nice touch. A friend recommended it to me, and I'll definitely be recommending it to others in the future.

While strolling down Harbin's Central Street, after visiting St. Sophia Cathedral in the evening, I unexpectedly stumbled upon this hotel on my way back, needing to use the restroom. I explained my situation to the front desk, and a lovely young lady immediately led me to the third-floor restroom. Her kind gesture alone made me consider switching hotels, and indeed, I checked in the very next day. This hotel's overall service is outstanding, exceeding all expectations. It's clean, hygienic, and offers a delicious and abundant breakfast. I will definitely book this hotel again on my next visit to Harbin.

I tried to book this hotel last summer, but it was peak season and I couldn't get a room. This year, my trip was later, and I managed to book two rooms easily. When checking in, the short-haired lady at the front desk, who I assume was a manager, was incredibly helpful and upgraded both our rooms – instant great impression! The tall gentleman also kindly offered us three glasses of water. By the way, the night before, my friend booked a different hotel across the street. After staying there, I really felt the difference – and it wasn't just a small one. The service attitude and response speed were completely different experiences. Choosing a HUAZHU hotel is definitely the right decision. As for this hotel: the breakfast was good, with a decent variety; the location is excellent, making it easy to catch a taxi; and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff on the third floor were very friendly and always greeted us. However, there was one small issue: in the room I stayed in with my child, I could hear a continuous low-frequency humming sound from the bathroom. Once we fell asleep, it wasn't noticeable anymore, though. I haven't asked my friend if their room had the same issue. Overall, I'm very satisfied and will definitely stay here again on my next visit!

The service was a highlight: as soon as we arrived, someone helped us with our luggage. On the day we left, it was pouring rain, and a kind lady held an umbrella for us while we loaded our bags into the car – truly excellent 👍. The hotel's location is great, right in the city center, within walking distance of Saint Sophia Cathedral and Central Street. It's a bit far from other attractions like the Siberian Tiger Park. Upon check-in, we received Qiu Lin Kvass as a souvenir, which is a local specialty, though I personally think Xinjiang's version tastes better. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel. We planned to go to the morning market, but it rained the next day, so we ate at a breakfast place next door. Friends, beware of the breakfast spot right next to the hotel, 'Yuanjia Noodle House' – it's expensive and not tasty, and the cashier lady has a bad attitude. As for the hotel's downsides: the ceilings are too low, the room is very small, and the hallway is very long and narrow, which felt quite oppressive. Surrounded by other buildings, the natural light was also poor.

Last year, my family and I stayed here for a few days, and this year, we didn't hesitate to book this hotel again. The location is excellent, right next to St. Sophia Church scenic area, and there are several great traditional Northeastern restaurants nearby. The hotel service is impeccable; they greet you warmly every time you come and go. The laundry room and gym are well-equipped. Breakfast offers a good variety, including wontons, noodles, and various fruits. We stayed for four consecutive days and were very satisfied overall.

Harbin in the summer can be tough to find a room, so I ended up choosing this Mercure. The location is excellent – within a 5-minute walk of Saint Sophia Cathedral, Hongzhuan Morning Market, and Central Street. They gave me a quiet corner room, which was a great value overall.

The location is fantastic, very close to St. Sophia Cathedral, and within walking distance of Central Street and the riverfront. It's also just a 10-20 yuan taxi ride to the Polarland and Siberian Tiger Park. The room is newly renovated and well-equipped, surprisingly even having a walk-in closet and a Dyson hairdryer.

The location is great, just a few minutes' walk along West Jiudao Street to Central Street, and also a few minutes to Saint Sophia Cathedral. The room isn't huge, but it's very comfortable, and they provide plenty of free bottled water. If you're staying to explore Saint Sophia and Central Street, it's a good choice. The front desk staff and all other service personnel are incredibly warm and friendly.

Harbin in summer – you get what you pay for! The day before, I stayed near Central Street; that hotel wasn't cheap but it was small and damp, and had virtually no facilities (not throwing shade, just a comparison)... The next day, I decisively moved to Mercure! Oh my god, I felt completely relaxed and refreshed! Location: It's not far from St. Sophia Church and Central Street. Harbin Museum is right across the street, and it's close to the river, so you can walk to the Flood Control Memorial Tower or the Middle East Railway Bridge – all the must-see spots are within a leisurely stroll. Facilities: The lobby isn't huge, but it's comfortable and well-designed. The room layout is sensible, with a walk-in closet, a bathroom with separate wet and dry areas, electric curtains, and a Dyson hairdryer. The laundry room, gym, and restaurant are all on the 3rd floor. Hygienics: Perfect score. Service: Extremely satisfied. The staff are all very enthusiastic and polite. The front desk receptionists are particularly patient; besides basic check-in services, they patiently chatted with a guest who was constantly talking, engaging in genuine conversation back and forth. Double Lobby Buffet Afternoon Tea: A big plus, very popular with seniors and children. Warm Midnight Snack: Different snacks every day, highly recommended. You pick them up at the front desk based on the number of people in the room. Fingertip Fun, Creative De-stressing Perler Bead Activity: My child was obsessed with Perler beads, so I booked it without hesitation! The only minor issue was that some bead colors were out of stock; it would be best if they could be replenished promptly. Also, the space felt a bit cramped. For a hotel of this caliber, it would be more appealing to guests if they had a separate room for children's activities.
