You can usually expect a fairly good standard at a Premier Inn and know what you are getting but not on this ocassion. Putting to side the £15 parking, the initial entrance to the hotel was met by an overflowing rubbish bin, the reception self check in units were out of order, the lady behind the desk less than enthusiastic with her greeting and it just appeared the hotel was very tired and run down and needed a good clean. I was given my room on the 4th floor, on entering the 4th floor I was met with the full laundry basket which was still there when I later returned from tea. The room had marks on the walls, the air con vents was filthy with dust/cobwebs hanging and blowing when the heating was put on, the toilet seat was filthy, the shower head was dirty, the sink area had dirt marks on it and there were signs of some sort of mould on the ceiling in bathroom. I went down to the restaurant and it was so cold that the five people that were there had hats and coats on. My teeth were literally chattering by the time my tea came, In fairness the gammon I ordered was ok. It also appeared a few people had been waiting too long for food which I was surprised at as there were only five people present. Got to say I didn’t really have a problem with breakfast other than again it being very cold in the restaurant. My company usually stay in Premier Inns as you know what you get but I won’t be staying in this particular Premier Inns when I’m back in Harrogate in 2 weeks time.

Unfortunately, the hotel was very busy, and the manager was well aware of how understaffed they were at the Easter weekend. All the staff we met and saw were working their socks off to try and give all the clients the correct attention ( I must mention Connor, who was a star). We did have some problems, and my husband spoke to the manager (who gave us excellent customer service), so eventually, everything was happily resolved. I do have to tell you about a male member of staff who refused to serve us drinks late on Friday night. He lied to us and said the bar was closed. We later found out they offer a 24-hour bar. Hope you're pleased with yourself, you miserable man! Everyone else, thanks for a great stay!

The plus points. The bed was comfy and I had a good night's sleep. The location is good. The negatives. The lift from the car park to the hotel is still not working. The two self check in desks are still not working Room 302 is surrounded on two sides by high structures so there is little natural light. This gloomy room has furniture that has seen better days. The carpet is worn. The toilet seat is loose. The sink tap is leaking. We had one bath towel for 2 people. The worst thing is the lack of cleanliness. The sink trap is full of disgusting gunge. The Aircon unit is filthy. The bedside lamps had months/years of dust. The mirror in the bedroom mucky. The skirting boards mucky. On the plus side we were only staying for one night. The highlight of our stay was the superb breakfast with omelettes made to order with a choice of fillings. There were a wide variety of breakfast items always readily available. After reading the reviews for the Premier Inn breakfast we went next door to the Crowne Plaza for breakfast. Of the many Premier Inn's we have stayed in this was easily the worst.

We stayed overnight at this hotel. We were unfortunately given a room at the side of the hotel overlooking the convention centre court yard which was full of litter. The room was very dark with no natural light coming in was We were looking at a wall which blocks out light. We had a walk round the hotel and the front snd the back of the hotel had a lot better views. I simply cannot understand why the room gets rented out to customers when there is alot better rooms. The bedroom was very dirty. Thick half an inch dust all over the place. Top of the light bulbs were thick of dust . The mirror and windows were filthy. The air conditioning unit on the ceiling was disgusting. The bed was comfy but the pillows were flat. Seen better days. There was only 2 teabags and no glasses to drink out of. I had to go to the bar do was given glasses. The bathroom was a disgraced. The water was leaking at the bottom of the tap and where the water runs down the plug hole there was full of black muck disgusting. We also notice the carpet has frayed and lits of sharp edges okinh up. An accident wating to happen if you were going to the toilet in the night bare footed. We have heard alot of bad reviews about eating at this place from other reviews so we spent an extra 6 pounds per person to eat at crown plaza worth every penny which is next door. We have stayed at lots of other premier inns around the country which has been very good but this one is not. There is alot of other reviews saying how dirty it is. Will not be staying here again

Dirty shower curtain, dirty bed sheets. Centipede in bath, marks on ceiling, short on toilet paper so had to ask for more to be told they didn’t have any but managed to find a role as none for dispenser, lack of coffee in room and dispenser, no staff on reception in morning to complain to. Never again.

Worn out facilities and seemingly low staffing levels made this a disappointing experience. The staff themselves were all very friendly and hardworking. First up, the lift from the car park was out of order, and we hadn’t been warned. Not a great surprise after a long journey to then have to spend ages hauling our luggage up the stairs before even settling in. Dinner was a bust - restaurant had already closed for food by 8pm. Nothing about restaurant operating hours was mentioned in advance. Nobody answered the phone when we rang earlier to check. Security wasn’t ideal - interior doors were left open, so anyone could get into the corridors. Black mould forming on bathroom ceiling. Sheet not fitted properly - had to redo it myself. Breakfast - longish wait for orders, eg porridge. Very poor selection - nearly everything gone by 8.30am - and the high chair for our child was filthy. £20 to park for the night. The pleasant staff and the quiet, comfortable night when we did finally get to bed were the saving graces, hence the two marks. However, the overall experience was below average, especially compared to a previous visit three years ago.

The hotel is very shabby and tired with communal areas and rooms grubby, chipped woodwork and stained. The lock between reception and access to the rooms wasn’t working. Worst of all was breakfast - tables were filthy and uncleared, there was shortages of all the food items on the buffet and no fresh milk and no juice, and the plates and cutlery put out were unwashed and smeared with food. Staff seemed unsurprised when we complained and said there was nothing they could do. I do not recommend staying here, the value for money is incredibly poor.
