The pub looked ok from outside and was promoting its food offerings on blackboards outside. We were tempted in by the prospect of a Sunday roast. Inside, the pub was almost empty but the lady behind the bar said they were fully booked for lunch. It wasn't this that was annoying but that she was so abrupt and unfriendly, almost gleeful that she couldn't help. Went next door to Hats & Barrels which was much nicer all round.

The food was amazing, I had the munk fish Thai green curry, my partner had the hake fish with fresh veg, and apple crumble and custard for dessert, it was all home made and tastes amazing, the service was excellent too, thank you all so much xx 😊

Amazing Sunday lunch, wholesome quality veg with generous servings of beef and gravy, all very well cooked and presented Value and quality was excellent! The pub itself is very friendly and welcoming with a good selection of ales/ beers and Kath and Simon always make people feel welcome and create a fantastic atmosphere in the pub, whether you want a quiet drink as a couple or with gang of friends. This place is a “proper” pub with genuine friendly feel and weekly live bands provided free This is a gem of place and I would highly recommend.
