It is more a 2** hotel, clearly not a 4! The room needs maintenance and is dirty (moisture in the shower, dust, and spider’s web – see pictures). Breakfast is also very limited and is not the standard of same category hotel. Really disappointing, first and last time in this hotel.

Absolute Gem of a hotel. Lovely village location. Great girly night away. Fantastic food. Gorgeous rooms with the comfiest beds. Staff were fantastic and a particular shout out to Bridget! Felt like home - so welcoming. We will be back - highly recommend.

We just stayed one night as a little treat to pamper ourselves in the spa and indulge in the restaurant. We generally stay in this class of hotel, however we have never come across such a well decorated and finished hotel to such exacting detail, it was a feast to the eyes inside and out. We particularly enjoyed walking around the gardens and lawn. The food was excellent, chateaubriand was beautifully cooked and the fresh vegetables were indeed incredibly fresh. We genuinely couldn't fault our stay, the only negative was in the converted stables where we stayed the walls did seem to allow a significant ammount of noise through from other rooms. We will definitely be back especially as it's less than 10 miles away.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home, relaxed and pampered. We booked the 3 night DBB package with spa access and made the most of every moment. Room- we stayed in Floral suite on the second floor of the main house. Beautiful room with separate sitting room, gorgeous bath and seriously comfortable bed. Spa- we used the spa every day, it’s perfect and was never busy, we loved to swim in the pool then sit in the outdoor hot tub for 30 mins. We did have to book our spa slot but the lovely ladies at the spa reception allowed us to switch the times when needed. Gym- I used the gym every morning, amazing free weights room and fantastic machines, I mostly had the gym to myself, it’s very well equipped and I enjoyed working out in there. Staff- Everyone we met, without exception were warm and friendly. Georgina always had a friendly smile and made time for a chat and Bridget on reception took great care of us. Restaurant- We thoroughly enjoyed every meal, breakfast was beautifully presented each morning and set us up for the day. Dinner was always a treat with beautifully prepared dishes every night, the specials on the menu were always tempting. We loved our stay at Headlam Hall and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

Family reunion and also the hotel where we had our wedding reception many years ago. Great to see in this time how the hotel has developed and the room was very comfortable. Dinner was excellent. We were in a small semi private area with a typically country house feeling. The menu choice was excellent and quality of food the same . Service was discreet and very good. A great stay and dinner - hopefully we will be back again.

This was my second visit to Headlam Hall, I had enjoyed my first trip so much that I had to return and bring my mum along. We stayed in a main hall twin room that was large, beautifully decorated and spotless. The beds are super comfortable, there are a selection of Molton Brown toiletries which are in nice big bottles and lovely homemade biscuits in a jar replenished daily. We had a dinner, bed and breakfast package. There was plenty of choice both evenings for dinner, which was all delicious with an excellent selection of wines. We enjoyed a liquor coffee in the lounge surrounded by elegant Christmas decorations and a roaring fire. Our package also included a cream tea which we had on arrival, again this was delicious. We spent a day lounging in the spa, which is never overcrowded and had a couple of amazing treatments. All of the treatments I have had at Headlam have been excellent and to a high standard. All of the staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome and looked after. On departure we received a gift bag with homemade biscuits, water and mini spa products, which is a lovely touch. We look forward to returning.

Been coming to this lovely Hotel & spa must be 15 years now off and on . Usually off due to covid or our other reasons . Long way up journey wise for us but that’s how much we love it . Sadly a lot of staff changes over the years but great to see some faces still there . Feels like home . Parkings good . If we stay in spa rooms we try to park by the door leading up to them easier with luggage . But large car park anyway . The rooms are beautiful we’ve stayed in the manor different rooms and the spa rooms (lift straight into spa there ) spa area lovely always great cheery staff and very helpful , great services facials massages etc . The restaurant that’s in the spa area is wonderful and have as little or as much as you want to order . Coffees etc salads . Sorry didn’t catch the name of the fantastic guy in there but he’s so great found out it was my birthday and asked my husband to come over and choose a cupcake for me he then put a candle on and sang happy birthday . Going that extra Mile . Thank you . The main restaurant is beautiful lovely seating in conservatory or other room . Very grand with candies . Staff are wonderful especially wine expert Colin . The bar is great with Carl looking after you did me a special non alcoholic cocktail. Nicola and Walid are very friendly and professional. Thank you to the chefs excellent food and presentation was wonderful . The reception staff lovely . See you all again . Thank you for my birthday card and candle on plate with cakes in evening x

Such a beautiful place with great facilities and lovely staff members. We came here for a birthday weekend and had mistakenly booked the wrong dates! No problem- the people on the desk sorted it out effectively and efficiently. Comfortable room with good facilities. Great bar staff and plenty of options as to where to enjoy a drink. Fantastic dining experience (suggest you try the halibut with a Marlborough Sauvignon). Wonderful gardens and beautifully kept nine-hole golf course a big plus. Hope to be back again soon.
